umm...i can't sleep..

it's been 4 days since I quit smoking and I haven't been able to sleep during the normal hours. I just lay in bed with the eyes closed and nothing happens for hours....then it's 6am, then 10am and then I pass out hahaha...fuck this sucks

Hang in there. Your body is going extream changes with nicotine withdrawl and other things. What you go through now will be a lot easier than what you could be facing in the future if you don't quit. I watched my mom die of emphysema due to smoking. That was a terrible way to go. Read up on it. Stay strong and go through the pain. A great reward awaits. Also, get some exercise. Good luck.

Try drinking chamomile tea before going to bed. Also, if you don't fall asleep within 15 minutes, do not stay in bed - get up and go for a walk, watch a TV, drink another cup of chamomile tea, whatever. Only go back to bed when you feel sleepy.

Personally, I would avoid TV if you can because it is auditory and visual stimulation as well as thought processing while just sitting there. Now, if you plop in a workout video, that's a different story....

Try working out some. Running helped me when I couldn't sleep.

it will get better. thats how i was when i quit. working out really helped me get some energy out. and i agree about turning off the TV. i thought that it helped me get to sleep, but it just helped me zone out and stay awake.

+1

I worked out when I quit smoking, and not only did it help me quit, knowing that smoking would hinder my workouts, but it also got me in much better shape.

BTW, 'working out' can involve the equivalent of 2 flights of stairs...

AKA: Booty Call

...then, have a sammich and go to sleep

2nd on the working out.

I always work out when I quit. You wont want to smoke after you start getting in shape.

No sleep??? Just wait until the spiders get under your skin. Don't let them lay eggs!! Don't let the voices inside the walls get to you either. That too shall pass.

Wait .....what were you smoking again?

I dont need to work out to quit smoking, im only suggesting it because it helps. I'd quit smoking all together if i didnt party and drink so much. I have yet to learn how to drink without smoking.
