The newest newsletter from Flybo, the Chinese electric car company, promises a 3-wheeler due in October. The price isn’t definite, but said to be “north of $30k”. Here are the stats:

* 3-wheeled, classified as Motorcycle (no on-road restrictions)
* Fully enclosed 3-passenger cabin
* 45HP AC motor, regenerative braking
* 90MPH top speed (electronically limited)
* Upgradeable lithium polymer battery options - 75, 150, 200 mile options (FASCHARGE slide in-out packs)
* Full luxury interior - AM/FM/CD/DVD/PC/GPS/OBD, Bose sound system, wireless computer
* Heads-up display

Interesting that the battery is called out as lithium polymer: lithium polymers are often used where the battery cells must fit in an unusual, non-standard space. In general, their energy density isn’t as great as lithium ion, so if you can get away with using regular lithium ion cells, you’d probably go with lithium ion. We’ll see what the story behind the polymer usage is…

I had an old honda 3-wheeler too. I hooked up a push lawnmower to the back and used it to cut the lawn. It was sweet until I would toumble over the bluff. try to keep the bike from crushing me and the lawnmower from cutting my arm off. ahhh good times.

It's not a 3-wheeler if it is not one of these.

If I lived somewhere more rural I'd totally buy one of those again.
