Starting my GSXR Taillight retro.

To give an idea of the difference, the Bottom row ALONE, was the same amount of LEDs used in the stock taillight.

of course.... these are also not stock LEDs

doesnt the CA tail have reflectors for all the LEDs tho? and the lens is just straight clear? I think you'll need a textured lens to refract the spotlight of all those LEDs

the refraction is neccesary to increase the output of exsiting LEDs, by using brighter and wider angle LEDs I can overcome this issue.

thanks for the input! good to look out for others!

Be careful about overrunning the LEDs, the bike runs around 13.5v above 3000rpm, your best bet is to get a adjustable voltage regulator and set it a 12v jut to be safe.

Those are good if you want to melt the housing, High power LEDs like that, anything in the Luxeon range normally require a headsink to keep from destroying themselves. SuperFlux LEDs are the best for automotive applications.

whoo hoo

http://www.radioshack.com/sm-12v-fix...i-2062600.html

I can keep my designed for 12V system and just solder these into the stock wiring harness so I dont even need to remove the taillight to install these.
