Well if this isn't the biggest hijack of the week.....

Anyway..There are a lot of bully breed rescues in the area, one that is awesome is in Grayslake, sometimes they even get litters, I highly recommend them. If you have your heart set on a pup though, well, honestly, there are not any reputable apbt breeders in the area that I know of anymore. The ones I know of are not local, but airfare is only $150. So, I guess it's what you're really looking for and how much you're willing to pay.

EDIT - If you are interested in the rescue, here is a link to the rescue in grayslake http://www.save-a-pet-il.org/ They always have a lot of apbt. One in particular that makes me so sad is Talon. She came in that place when I first volunteered there 6 years ago, and I just looked through their dogs, and she is still there . Here is another great rescue for bully's...http://www.chicagolandbullybreedrescue.org/

Because they are the best dogs I've ever owned. I've had at least two dogs at a time since I was born, all different breeds. Purebreed, bla bla bla. Pits are the most loyal, playful, energetic, etc.

{edited}

To the couple people that posted up serious info thanks. I will definitely check out the rescues. Yes it has to be a puppy so I can make sure it's raised correctly. Socialization at a very young age is what it's all about. If anyone else can contribute anything useful please PM me as I'm done with this thread. Can a mod please lock it?

Well NickIF I agree..

I have had two dogs in the past 20 years.. both Pitts. I am not saying they are the BEST Breed in the world.. but I have loved the two that I have had. My latest is a Blue, not local though. I had him Flown in from North Carolina. He has the BEST temperament in any dog I have ever been with, playfull, and hella smart for only 4 1/2 Months old. To bad the media and the assholes that realize the strength they have has turned a beautiful Dog into a Circus. Until you own one and see the breed for the wonder dog they are.. you have no clue.

+1 APBT are awesome dogs. One day when I have a thousand acres I'll own another one. I got mine who lives with the g-parents from a breeder in NY. Petfinder.com is a good site too, and you can just put in that you are looking for a baby and it will only bring back apbt who are young pups, who are in your area. Last night I saw on the news where they rescued 10 apbt's from this asshole who was treating them like shit, and they are doing awesome now. If I had a house with a big back yard right now, I would have definitely considered adopting one of the pits that were on the news last night, they were beautiful and had great temperments.

Everyone has a preference in dog breeds, I don't see why preferring a APBT is a bad thing?? To each their own. Good luck, and you'll have to post a pic of the pup when you finally get one.

Okay...Now I'll post a few pics of Tank. He was only a yr old in these pics, so this was a LONG time ago, because now he is 7 yrs old. Trees and squirrel are his thang!

Gregg, you really got an awesome looking dog. I love the color on him.

To all the pitbull haters . Every pitt I've ever known that was raised by a responsible dog owner has been a great dog, no different from any other breed.

I used to raise Red Noses. Bar none - one of the top three family oriented, always aimed to please "bully breed" dogs you could have as part of the family.
And Grayslake resue is awesome!! She's not a red nose but here is my latest addition.

What do the internet and Channel 11 have in common? They are both a window to the world; put it out there and do not be surprised who will see it.
