63" plasma for 3k

63" Philips plasma for 3k at Costco:

Just 3 yrs ago something this huge would have cost as much as a car. Unreal, your neighbors lights probably dim when this baby is fired up

Looks like the display is equivalent to 720p (1366x768p) but can upconvert to 1080i (1920 x 1080i). If that's the case, then I don't know if I would spend the money on a huge screen unless it's running a full 1080p natively. Of course, I seriously doubt that you can get something like that for $3k (most likely double at best). Although having a huge plasma display, I would have to see it in person to see how profound the difference would be.

i think you mean it's 768p native resolution and scales anything up to 1080i down to this resolution.

Great price, that's less than what i get from the employee store "Employee Price: $3,599.99"

The employee price on a 50" plasma is only $1800

just picked up at panny 58" 600u series for $3000 at Best Buy/magnolia. You really get what you pay for, and those cheaper brands and models are garbage compared to the better rated units
