Without listening, I'm guessing that he's expecting the libs to jump on this like a hippie to a doobie. Pass more and more unconstitutional laws that just basically paraphrase what's already on the books to make it look like they are "doing something."

Has he done his global warming update today? How do you like that new theme song? I AM THE GOD OF HELL FIRE!

The media has rapidly devolved this into a gun control debate (last time i checked killing people was already illegal) and have even gone so far in some cases as to point the finger at the repuclicans and even Bush...yes, it happened already!!

Oh yeah, and rising health care costs have also snuck in, AS A RESULT OF RISING HOSPITAL TRIPS FROM GUN RELATED VIOLENCE!!!!!! you gotta be kidding me!

The worst part of all of this is so rapidly utilizing a tragedy such as this as a political platform. Low brow IMO.

He's most likely referring to the ostensibly neutral hard news media/journalists. Thats an important and rather obvious distinction. I'd have thought you'd be above ignoring the obvious to take a shot at Rush.

You're not going to hear from the neutral hard news media/journalists with bullshit like that because they aren't spinning anything about this. Those that are spinning it are not the group you are referring to. I thought that distinction would be painfully obvious.

Bullshit like what? And the MSM does it quite frequently. The NYT article on the front page was clearly pro-gun control. Most of the CNN coverage made it a point to insert irrelevant points that mirrored the gun control debate. One that comes to mind is one article that speculated about hi-cap mags. The initial reports said he was carrying an M16 assault weapon.
I've heard some 'journalists' on TV implicate Bush because he let the AWB sunset in 04.
The fact is, 90+% of 'journalists' self identify as liberals, and it colors their coverage.

From the reuters report
"HEATED GUN DEBATE

More than 30,000 people die from gunshot wounds in the United States every year and there are more guns in private hands than in any other country.

But a powerful gun lobby and support for gun ownership rights have largely thwarted attempts to tighten controls"

Since these are the liberal media, it's not the neutral journalists you were referring to. Who is a neutral journalist that has now seemingly crossed into the left side of the aisle as a result of this story?

I said OSTENSIBLY neutral journalists. Meaning all of the liberal journalists that pretend to report with an unbiased eye, but in reality are on the verge of editorializing.

I like the media in England where no one even pretends to be neutral. It's impossible to be so and ONLY in America (and possibly Russia) do they even try.

Oh and for every gun murder there are like 3 other non gun related ones. Gonna take away kitchen knives next? How about cars? Maybe we can all run around with oversized boxing gloves driving volvos (complete with a 25mph speed limiter).

No one said it was an epiphany.

Rush doesn't pretend to be unbiased, quite the contrary. I'd have a whole lot more respect for the Dan Rathers and whomever if they would just be straight about about being liberal and quit claiming a monopoly on the 'unbiased truth." IN reality, they're spinning just as much as the Al Frankens and Sean Hannitys. Unfortunately there are too many morons incapable of critical thinking and analysis that actually believe they're getting the straight scoop from the left wing Reuters/AP driven news outlets.

I agree you... you can't make rules for the majority to protect a minority (small populus 'sp")

The fact is the gun didn't kill the victims the person did.
The shooter could have taken lives without a gun

Perhaps, peers, techers, professors, family, friends could have asked questions or interviened before it came to this point.

I am not pointing fingers. I'm just saying, generally speaking, I would think you would see something like this coming.

This is an horrible event and my prayers are with the families and friends of the victims.

Rush is biased. That's why I get all my political news from Eddie and Jobo.

3rd declaration: In such extreme circumstances, the law is by definition inadequate. To shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law, to pursue natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive-it is an emotional response. Vengeance serves no larger purpose. Society does not benefit from vengeance. Violent men are not deterred by acts of vengeance. The only appropriate response to their actions is the one I have chosen to pursue: a course of purposed, intentional violence. Violence intended to instruct, as much as destruct. A course, in a word, of punishment
