I was planning on building my own also, but the wife states "when are you going to ever have time to get it done?"

I'll be building my own either late spring or mid summer. Depends on the $$$. Last house I put on a mulit-level, 400 SQ ft cedar deck. Then proceded to landscape it with 400 landcsaping bricks. Cant find the pic sorry. Been building decks with my dad off and on for 20 years now. But nothing but helping out the neighbors for the last 10.

Me and my dad can build it. We built the one at their house...it took the whole weekend to do. Now that I think about it......he owes me to help me build one.

Thats a nice looking deck. What you should do is buy all the material and a Keg, then have a deck building party....get about 10-15 people..it will take a day max...provided you already dug the post holes. Even if you didnt....a power post hole digger will be done in an hour.

I'm thinking of getting a composite material, as by nature I am extremely lazy, and would rather hose the deck off instead of staining it....and it will never warp, or decay ....

See if Troy (Naked1) is interested. He's a carpenter on the side. Although he's without transportation right now. He's not on the board much, but PM me and I'll get you his phone #.
