Tickets and insurance rates

I checked with my state farm agent today. First I turned 25 so my rates for car, bike, house went from $219 to $130!!! Woohooo!!! My bike is only $192/year for full coverage. That went down from $450. The lady didn't believe it at first.

Also I found out that I am what they call a "mutual customer" or something like that. Meaning that since there are no felonies or accidents on my record, minor infractions such as speeding have no impact on my premiums. However, getting my lisence suspened would. So I have to be a good boy for now on.

I wonder if I am one of those and that's why my insurance didn't go up when I had the claim last march

SHit I may be getting rid of my bike now!

I just got the info in the mail and been trying to get shit cleared.

They quoted me $317 with 100/300 with $250 deductible $1000 extra medical coverage.

I get the info in the mail and they want $560 instead

I've got NO tickets or accidents and am 32 yrs old unlike Cherry.

Hell they want $417 for 20/40 with $500 ded. $1000 extra medical. Then I asked for JUST liability..HOLY SHIT!!!!!! they wanted $320 for the year JUST for LIABILITY

So now I need to go shopping for insurance or put the bike up for sale cuz there is no way in hell I'm paying that much for my bike with my age and not even living in WILL County...

yikes. there must be something in your background that they don't like.

I just looked at mine. It's gone up a little with the new bike, but I'm still only at ~$440/year for 100/300 full coverage and $50 ded

Cherry must have had to sleep with the agent to get that rate. That price is unreal and good for him. (or is that with something like a $500 ded?)

The lady told me it's because I've not been with them for 3 years and that the insurance rates went up

I told her it's just a legal way to ROB people of there money

I'm gonna call around and check other SF agencies plus other insurance.

So is progressive going to jack my rates up now that my licence was suspended? Only for a month. But I did get pulled over while it was and was arrested for it but was not convicted of it. I pay 1500 a year as it is.

State farm is starting to get a little carried away with the insurance rates, atleast for me. Each year that passes by my insurance for the bike goes up 100 bucks. When I called and asked they just told me that everyones rates were increased because the amount of motorcycle accidents is going up each year. I think it's b.s. but if any of you are under the age of 25 with state farm and have a clean record for a certain period(don't remember how long) then you can get the good drivers discount. Which took about a hundred off my car and 80 off the bike.

I should look into these guys. I can put the house, car, and bike loan on and HOPEFULLY get a decent rate. HRB has his 'busa insured through them and it's less my SV, which SUCKS.

well i got progessive for my bike, they came in the cheapest back when i bought it..and each year it keeps getting cheaper.

but i only have liability for 500,000 on it.

cost me 245.00 a year.

i think farmers insurance back then was 400.00 for full coverage, and they HAVE to include my wife on the policy cause of how they do it, and she had an accident with major claims to the policy.

which still isnt to bad for full coverage.

I think I need to call my SF agent and give them an earful and find out whats going on. I pay more than most of you do and I was told when I moved that my area was considered a "high risk" area. A couple of you know where I live...yeah right ..high risk area

Mike,

Mine went down when I moved out here. I was in a lower risk area of Chicago before. Not high risk but still high. When I moved out here my rates dropped.....I would guess by 25%

I have a guy at All State. In Naperville. His name is Kevin Lac 630 428 1600. When I was 18 and I bought my f4 he gave me full coverage for around 1900 for 6 months which seems crazy im sure. But everywhere wanted 3200 because of the bike and my age. Since then its dropped dramatically. Hes always been great with me on all my cars/trucks/bikes. I have a 68 Firdbird, and a 97 Explorer sport and I pay around 200 a month. For full coverage on both. And im 22. Give him a call and get a quote hes a good guy. Been with them since and loved their service.

Well I Called Country Companies and have to wait til tomorrow to see what the price is actually going to be. If it's anything like they quoted me or close I'm DROP KICKING SF.

I was with AllState they won't cover sportbikes. The sportbikes are on a blacklist now. I dumped Allstate when I got my last bike the 929RR.

I think it's BULLSHIT that now your insurance is also depending on your credit report. How does anyone paying there bills have to do with there driving habits. Just another LEGAL way to rip off the consumer.

It was funny when the lady at my agent was trying to mumble off excuses as to why there was such a BIG difference.

Insurance is such a SCAM

Cheyenne

P.S. I already have the Insurance card stating I've got insurance..Hmmmmz I could go til next year with that risk..LoL

I think only if your over 25 and alos carry a car eith full coverage through them. You might even have to be married and have a clean driving record too. Thye are very strict because they were loosing a lot of money a few years back.

I was 29 when they wouldn't cover my 2k Honda CBR929RR. That was only back in 2000 when I had to dump Allstate and go with SF. I had my '96 Z28 also with them and had been with Allstate for over 5 years. They have what is called a Blacklist which has certain bikes on it that they can't and won't insure. There are other insurance companies that also follow the list.

They would cover a cruiser 1000cc's but wouldn't cover a sportbike at the time.

G'luck and hope they will insure your bike for ya.
