RANT: parts dept.

ok, now i work in a dealership and they dont always have the parts we need, and its always stupid crap like, brake pads for a brand new mini-van. but yet we stock 7 radiator fans for a PT cruiser

so drained the oil on the F4i last night, run over to the Honda dealer thats a mile from my work to pick up more oil.

THEY ARE OUT OF STOCK!!! of OIL! How the hell does that work??!?!??! So i ask the guy, he says "well most likely on Friday we will get it"

WTF?!?!?! no i have to drive all the way to Schaumburg to pick up oil..

same problem at the dealer i work at.. All we stock is maintenance items, tires and accessories. Yesterday, this guy comes in with a ripped valve stem, from those TireFly caps. We were out of them!

Yeah, dealerships rarely stock anything now. My local dealer didn't have any oil plug gaskets for a gixxer . It's a darn gixxer, everyone has one and changes their oil frequently, and they don't have them in stock. Then people ask why you don't support a dealer. If they are going to order it from Ron Ayers and take a week to give it to me, why don't I just go to Ron Ayers site, save some money, get it in 3 days, and do it myself.

Hell yeah I remember you. What's up? Been a while huh? Yeah I still get around here and there a little but not so much on the motorcycle nowadays. I might do some 40+ (old man class) races next year but with full-time mountain bike racing, work, kid, and nagging wife the free time gets eaten up quick. Nothing beats the rush of roadracing and I've tried it all since. Even after two broken collar bones, wrist, ankle and back I still want to keep racing. Plus my kid doesn't believe all the awards I have are actually mine, she's never seen me race. Was that the weekend I won all those races or the one I crashed, burned, broke my wrist and wound up on the ESPN crash reel?

Ahhhhh good times. Good talking to you and thanks for the welcome. You should be seeing more of us on here. Cool site.

Sweet. Yeah if I am ever out near the shop I will stop by. Last time I stopped in when you had about 500 cows hanging in your shop. I have never seen so many new leather 1 piece suits. If you ever do hit a race look for Expert 143 I am usually good for a couple race weekends a year.
