Sorry to hear code2medic.

Even the light bars are getting hard to distinguish from luggage/bike racks, at a distance. Very crafty indeed.

Operating a motorcycle. So easy, even a caveman can do it. Knowing how to ride? Priceless.

Naperville has bike cops. I got my first speeding ticket in my Pcar by a couple of them. 42 in a 30.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Always a risk of speeding. If you can't afford the ticket and the subsequent spank that comes with it, then don't do it.

I don't recall saying he bitched... but his title did say that he didn't expect to see him. So, if you're speeding, expect to see him. Make it a game to find the crown vic, the malibu, the harley, etc.. If you don't see him, consider yourself lucky... but don't be surprised if they tag you.

Don't forget that some depts. have Dodge Chargers now too. And I agree, if you are speeding than don't be surprised when you see cherries in your rear view mirror, its almost a given when the law has quotas to fill

but siriously about the quota thing, I dunno how many LEO's or people who know them would agree with me, but a LEO friend said that crap ain't true... They just target areas where they hear about bad speeders... the quota idea derived from that they sat around all month, and need to pick it up...

he had something absurd like 4 traffic violations minimum a month to find... anymore than that and you're looking like a one-man superstar on the force, and have more paperwork.

There are no quotas at all....but you can't sit on your butt everyday at work for a month and not even make a traffic stop. I've heard some places where they just want to see an average of a ticket or warning ticket a day for when everyday you work...but they don't have a minimum requirement and they can't force you to do it.

Some days I look to do a lot of stops (run radar, sit near a red light), other days I don't look and just go on my call and I don't do a single stop.
I think I'm leniant in when I even decide to pull someone over...all depends on what type of cop pulls you over. Heck, I've been written tickets by 2 officers before.

I know a Cook County sheriff, he said that he has to get a min # of several types of violations, one of them was speeding, don't recall the other 2 or 3.

Nice 914 (the original "boxster")

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"
