Chicago Marathon

My wife and I are training for the 2007 Chicago Marathon on October 7. Tomorrow we do a short long run of 9 miles. The next two weeks will be harder with a 14 and 15 mile Saturday long run. The day before we do 7. So, 22 miles of running in two days back to back. This does not include the other runs during the week. So far it has been very interesting. I never thought I would ever call a 5 mile run short.
Anyone else going to run the Marathon.

Yes! Running it for the 2nd year in a row.

It's the 30th anniversary this year.
*insert geeky info here*
In 1977, the Chicago Marathon had about 4200 entrants & was the biggest on in the world. Now it's over 50,000.

Wishing you & your wife the best of luck with your training!
I highly recommend ice baths after long runs, even if you have no pain.

Our very own Ron will be running the Chicago Marathon...spoke with him on Tuesday night...all he's hoping for is not DNF. He ran the San Diego marathon last year and finished. He's been training pretty hard...I see him running in the area. Good Luck Ron and all other members who are running it

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

I'll be there!

For your 10-mile and longer runs:
Get to know your chafing areas. Be nice to them with Body Glide(tm).
Fine tune your pre-run meal.

Good luck in the race!
