I hate being on call...

Ok, I'm not a cop or an EMT or something cool like some of you around here...I'm just a dumb computer tech for a big hotel chain. So some of you that are on call for important reasons, I understand...but being on call for this piddly shyte...

I'm all loaded up to drive up to Blackhawk Farms and take some photos and meet some people...and I get an E-mail on my Blackberry (AKA Digital Leash) that one of the executive sales people just got a new router at home and now she can't work from home because “nothing is working”. She wants me to call her, magically know WTF her setup is, and walk her through correcting her screw-up so she can make these million dollar sales. And she even schedules this phone call with me!!

I'm literally walking out to the cage with camera in hand....(sigh) I really hate being on call.

Sorry I'm missing you all at BHF today...I know I'm going to be stuck on the phone for an hour or two...and then the follow up calls from the people higher up who will ask how I let this failure happen, and I'm sure a discussion on Monday with my boss about how he knows how difficult this woman is, and how I should have been more patient with her....

OK /rant /vent

I was really excited about going to BHF today...it's my highpoint of this weekend...maybe instead I'll just go out for a ride and meet up with some peeps. Hit me up for photos if you're bored today.

He probably isn't protected under agreement like you. BTW, you probably won't work till tomorrow afternoon the way things are going & your position on the board.

Now, try not to break the bike again while your off.

I bet I catch a midnight yard job, that is my guess. What is going on with rail traffic? Reroute due to a derailment, the Brighton Park change over or something else?

I am ok with how it is going, I worked 8 times this half, making 60K a year. Not too bad for a part time job But it def cuts into my new bike fund.
