who has the best cell phone deals right now

well my contract has been over with sprint for months, and i am sick of there roaming shit and bad service area with no or low signal.

who has the best coverages out there and or best plans?

also i might want to get a black berry to get on line or search for shit when i cant get on line.

OR is it better to just get a normal phone, and a wireless card for the laptop?

ive been out of the technology loop for a while on this.

Sorry to hear about your luck with Sprint - My Sprint phone works everywhere Bro and my Data Speeds are 2nd to none

T-Mobil was GREAT for me before I went to Sprint - I carry a Verizon Blackberry for work and I hate the thing - I NEVER have coverage with it

I have not heard the best about AT&T / Cingular either - That leaves you with US Cell which I hear is not all that great while traveling

I just left Nextel for AT&T and I'm happy so far. So far my Blackjack has better service everywhere the Nextel didn't, although voice quality isn't quite as clear. But I'll take a slightly higher-compression audio stream over a lack of service.

I can use my BlackJack as a modem for my laptop (tethering) and with the Cingular/AT&T 3G network I'm getting nearly 1000Kbps downstream.

Word on the Nextel not being good and I am sure you know that the Nextel Network and the Sprint Network are two diff networks, just owned by the same Co

Cingular/AT&T, no problems here. Using a Nokia E62, very clear, no dropped calls. $100, $50 mail in rebate for phone, con is no camera, but pretty much indestructable (Dropped it a few times, not a scratch).

Iphone = Crap

From what i was reading Terrible battery life and you cant just change it you have to send it in to have it change. the iphone is a ipod with a frigin phone on it = worthless imo. better off with a blackberry

Go to howardforums.com and read the issues they are having with phones might have to dig around but very informative

Actually, the post purchase reviews from consumers on it seems to be very positive. It has over a 90% customer satisfactory rating. I think the people buying it don't really care about some of the tech details. Not to mention it's only the first version which rarely gets such positive results.

As for service providers. US Cellular gives great coverage, but when I was in the store getting my phone repaired, I noticed that their rates weren't as cheap as when I signed up. Nice deals on phones, but a more limited selection than most others. I can count on one hand how many dropped calls I've had in the past 3 years with them.

If it "roams" that is no big deal Bro - It is just pulling off a "non Sprint" tower and you should not be getting charged for that - Hell, I use my phone on the Subway (not the "el" as I am never above ground) about everyday and never drop the call - I am "roaming" but it is just billed like a normal call - You may want to revisit your plan too

I rarely ever get dropped calls on my Sprint Treo 700p. It works everywhere I go and it's fast. Two weekends ago I was on a boat on the Fox river 10 miles South of Starved Rock. I still had excellent coverage and was able to make calls, check email and send picture mail.

But if the best deal is what you are looking for, you have to shuffle carriers. Customers who switch over get the best deals on phones and plans. That or threaten to leave Sprint and see what they do for you. Most reliable, best service, it all depends on where you are.

700+Kb/sec DL speed if I am in an EVDO area, which most of the time I am. I can DL a 565KB ringtone in less than 20 seconds.

If ur looking for coverage, i'd go with Verizon, i can b in a basement locked in an elevator and still make a call, however, their plans are not as cheap as the other carriers. Also, some of their phones have mobile web on them so u dont really need to buy a blackberry jus to search for stuff.

It depends where you are really. Verizon's network is just as fast as Sprint's if not better. I often tether my Treo to my laptop. Have no problems surfing CLSB, eBay, reading email and chatting on AIM. It is much better than dialup speeds.

att/cingular here, sometimes i wish i had better coverage, i think if i held it up to the satellite id still get a bar or two. but its been working alright for me, i dont use my phone much and i have the lowest 450minute plan for 39.99 but im payin like 55 a month for it somehow (added txt msgs and taxes). i bet if i had a better phone then itd be a nicer network.

Cingular has deals on thier blackjack right now. I use their service on my treo and it works great. Mopar has the sprint blackberry and loves his. Plus his works at blackhawk, mine drops out a lot there.

T-Mobile with blackberry pearl here. Had T-Mobile for years and have never really had a complaint. Sure I have had dropped calls over that time but nothing too excessive. The blackberry service is great though, I get my emails on my phone prior to getting them online. Also the internet speeds are pretty quick especially when in strong signal coverage.

My bro has T-Mobile and hates it. I've got Cingular am happy with it. I think some also depends on the phones not alone service.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!
