"jammed" my finger

not sure if thats the proper term, but it got over extended I think.

it hurts less today than yesterday but am not sure how to alleviate or make it heal.

any suggestions are appreciated.

Make sure it's straight (a slight straight pull usually does the trick) and if it's really bad to move immobilize it w/ a splint.

Keep it iced. Ibuprofen can also help w/ any swelling.. and drink plenty of water so your body can help itself flush any damaged tissue out of there.

If you're really worried about it, go to a Chiropractor or a medical doctor (I prefer them in that order, but go to whom you are comfortable with).

...the rest just takes time.

Is it discolored?

Can you move it?

Which finger?

I got so much scar tissue in my right thumb, that a bad drop in barometric pressure or a slight bump can make it swell up and cause me pain for days...

Not a whole lot you can do. Not using it is the best thing for it, and then moving it slowly now and then as it heals.

Yes I jammed my finger in my football league! My thumb to be exact and that was over a month ago... It still hurts.. It will take a while for it to heal, just know that. So Mort... I'm just guessing but a thumb jam is obviously the worst type! Due to pain and great length of time for it to heal up completely without any pain (is that even possible). Oh if all else fails you can always go to Walmart or Target or even Walgreens and get a splint and try taping it in a splint for a while to keep from banging it. Which is going to happen more often then you will believe.

Or next time, make sure that the thumb is completely out of the bunghole before moving.

And WTF is with that gay wrestling move?
