Can Dual purpose bike be converted to a motard type bike

Can anyone tell me if a Dual purpose bike can be converted to a motard type bike by switching the tires to a sportbike type tire?

More specifically has anyone ever tried doing this and can sportbike tires be mounted to dual purpose rims? I would think as long as the diameter and width are pretty much the same there shouldn't be a problem.

Probably a dumb ? but somebody has to ask them.

If you wanna see if you like it you can go with a more street oriented style of dual sport tire! Ultimately the traditional motard setup is 17inch front and rear rims, and an upgraded front brake.

What bike do you have?
