Sad Day......land Mark Closing need help

Sad Day......land Mark Closing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well its a sad day for me, and once most of you read this, some of you too will be sad/mad

Caribou Coffee in Lake in the Hills IS CLOSING ITS DOORS wednesday 7/25/07

they say its due to not being profitable, or should i say that shitty ass tasting Resse Restaraunt took all the parking away from Caribou customers.

some of you know this was once the weekend meeting space for CLSB, where many of group rides originated from.

So lets help Caribou go out with a bang and do it old school style. we use to fill that parking lot to the brim with bikes, and i want to make that happen one more time.

SO THIS SATURDAY JULY 21ST starting @ 9 am lets take over that parking lot with bikes, hell i may even lead one more group ride through the LITH route for old time sakes.

who is in?

Ahhh, I've riden in/out of there many a time. My street bike isn't legal, but I'll mention it to Mama Bear (Steve) as he goes there all the time. Of course some bitch in a minivan hit him in a parking lot, cracking his 996 all up to shit, so he might not be riding by the 21st either.

Good excuse to get out of the house. I'll see you Saturday!

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

Isn't it a publicly traded company? I know some middle eastern bank(s) own/owned large shares.

A lot of the coffee shops have been closing in the LITH area... The Firehouse Coffee across the street closed a few months ago and another one on Algonquin Rd (forgot the name) closed recently too...

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

yes, but this has been a staple of the community for 10 years. it all went down hill when they jammed that breakfast joint in there. all the parking is spoken for on the weekends by that restaraunt keeping people from going to caribou to get coffee. that parking lot is so congested that i park in the strip mall next door and walk there.

I love Caribou. They closed the Bartlett Caribou too. sad times.

More Caribous need drive-thrus. The only one I know of with a drive-thru is on Eola in Naper/Aurora.
