COTATI, Calif. -- A 3-month-old kitten is on the mend after being set on fire, allegedly by two teenage girls last month.

Warning: Disturbing Images

The male shorthaired kitten, named Adam, received second- and third-degree burns over 75 percent of its body and was being treated at the Animal Hospital of Cotati, located in Northern California's Sonoma County, officials said.

Saw that earlier. When did it become cool to set animals on fire?

Someone should take the girls that did this and start thier hair on fire and then hold thier hand on a hot grill. Thats justice.

I remember growing up in some bad 'hoods, it was cool to tie bags to a cats feet and set them on fire. It sickened me, even when I was only 5 or 6 and didn't understand what they were doing.

I have a 3 month old kitten, and to think someone could do that to something so cute....they have issues.

I think we need a Steven King style Super Flu like in The Stand to trim the population down a bit. Too many people being born without souls or something....

For the most part, I actually think I like animals more than I like most people. Does anyone else feel this way?

Very much so. I'd rather deal with a goofy dog or stuck up cat then a back-stabbing bastard or flaky bitch.

Sorry, that sounded harsh. Sometimes I think animals are just so much more...human then humans.

Animals are the purest form of life. Humans are so polluted it turns my stomach. I have no problem with the concept of ending human life. Animals, however, seem to deserve better.

Call me a freak, it wouldn't be the first time, but I'd rather people suffer and die than animals.

It's nice to know that we are probably or hopefully the majority. The animal lovers.

Quite possibly the dumbest comment I've ever read here...

7/10 for flamebait though...

Well a profesional football player thinks its ok to fight dogs and kill the ones that don't live up to it cruely.

Think about the impact this is having on our youth that don't have parents that give a shit or are involved in their lives.
