Salary Sucks

So here I am sitting at work the only person here because one of our trailers' brakes are locked up. I would have been home 30 min ago, the first time since march I could be home before midnight, but now I have to wait for a vendor to come here and fix it. If they are unable to fix it I have to wait for the trailer to be unloaded and loaded into another trailer by our overnight shift who doesn't start till probably 0230. Salary really sucks sometimes.

I agree sometimes. I wish I worked for a company that paid engineers overtime. I took Monday and Tuesday off, and still put 36 hours in the office the rest of the 3 days. That's not to mention all the work I have to get done this weekend. I hate it when they don't allow engineers to put in there input on deadlines and leave it up to the managers that have no idea on the design aspect of the project.

People do not understand the rule:

Features
Cost
Time to implement

...Pick two, the third will be determined based on those

They kid themselves and pick all 3.

It's always amazing how the clueless think they can dictate it all. It's always a recipe for disaster and it's usually the customers that get fucked.

Dude, cry me a river. I'm in the same boat as you just a worse. I'm also salary and if you break down my hourly wage it isn't too bad for a 40-45 hour week. But once I get on the road and working in the field we work until the job is done usually in a certain time frame. That means sun up to sometimes after the sun goes down. I see 15 hour days sometimes. Then there is the travel with delayed flights, driving long distances. Fuck I hate being salary, they could at least pay us over time when we are working in the field.
