finally got around to it

the past three weeks ended with a total ticket tally of 3 tickets for me. 2 were conformance tickets and the last ended up with my license in markham. ( didn`t know they still did that in some places ). 1 for aftermarket exhaust and 2 for no front plate. all three were $75 each

well i finally got a little down time from the extra board and went over to the garage to yank the wheels off the bike for the mounting of some sexy azz d.o.t.`s and when i looked over at the car i decided to bust out the drill and mount up that front plate mount. using the indentations already on the front bumper for the plate mount i knocked out 2 pilot holes and used the self tapping screws that came with the bracket. but when i went to put the plate on i couldn`t find any decent screws in the garage.........

.............man i love zip ties

i bought the car in indiana. they don`t use front plates there so when you get a car there they don`t put the bracket on unless you ask for it. and since i bought this one used it wasn`t on there. and i didn`t ask.

safety wire and zip ties make the world go round

Yup on both counts. I'm putting together my race bike at the moment (break time) so I know all about safety wire and zip ties.
I'm glad I don't have to put those stupid ass front plates on my pimp Tundra

front plates are pretty useless. only positive to them is that in the event of a hit and run most people don`t think to make sure the plate didn`t fall off and they leave that evidence at the scene

Yeah I hated having to drill the holes in my bumper to mount the front plate on the Tundra. You Indianaites are lucky. I should report you for living in IL over the summer so you have to mount a front plate on your Tundra.

why bother? it`d cost more than just paying the ticket in the end. plus it`s like the first moving violation i`ve had in years. the way i look at it, it`s my donation to the f.o.p. that way, next time they call me and beg for money i can tell them that " i gave at the traffic stop "

If by 'cost more' you mean your time to go to court and fight it, then that's your call... At worst, it's just court costs or the original ticket... However, I have almost always seen judges toss it (no front plate tickets) if someone is respectful and provides proof that it has since been remedied.

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....

F the front plate. If Illinois wants to save tons of money stop making a front plates like many other states and even our own motorcycles don't need them. Total waste of money.

Ask them why 9 out of 10 corvetts don't have front plates?
Cops are sometimes pretty selective about who gets a ticket for no front plate.

Kind of like ticketing loud sports bikes, and ignoring harleys
