Stupid Bike (Rant)!

So I decided I'm going to put my bike up for sale as I have only had time to put 50 miles on it this season, so I was going to take today to change the oil, charge the battery, ride it around for awhile to make sure everything is ok and give it a thorough cleaning.

I go to change my oil and can't find my oil pan, realized I threw it away down at school, so I had to go out and buy a new one. Wasn't a big deal as they are only $8, but that was just the start.

I get home, drain the oil, spill some all over the driveway, fill it back up, go to start it...the battery is completely dead. Damn. Hook up the battery charger and go to clean the chain. As I'm cleaning it, I smash my finger in the rear sprocket and have a nice purple mark on my finger nail. Damn.

I move on to cleaning the rear rim and all of a sudden hear a loud WHOOSHHH!! WTF?!? My valve stem just ripped off. DAMN! Great, I was planning posting my bike for sale tonight, now I have to get my rear tire fixed.

I go to get the tools to take off the rear tire and my 27 mm socket has disappeared. Damn roommates! To make things worse, my bike is up on stands in the middle of the driveway, blocking the garage so I can't take my car out. Damn.

I go to let the bike gently off the rear stand to roll it out of the way and the tire lands funny due to the flat and it tips over. DAMN! I catch it half way down, but can't pull it back up. I set it down on, thinking it will just gently set down on the frame slider, but the frame slider lands on the oil pan and cracks a big hole it in. Damn, bigger oil spot in the driveway.

I pick the bike back up, push it over onto the sidewalk in front of the house, and get it on the rear stand. Look over the bike, and nothing hit the ground, so I'm good, just some oil in the frame slider. Now I have to run out and get a new socket and get the rear wheel off to get the stupid valve stem fixed. What a day.

Sorry for the long post but I figured it would give some people a good laugh.

Anyone want to buy a 98 F3 with a flat tire?

Damn ain't if funny how a simple job like changing oil can turn into a complete cluster f#$k?

I was doing one on my old 1100 Katana and all was going well. Old oil out, new oil in and filter changed.....did I mention I had to drop the header to get at the filter? Header back on and bodywork back on too. Started it up and watched a pool of 5$ a quart Mobil 1 spreading on the floor of the garage. The old gasket stuck to the bike and 2 gaskets don't seal very well. Redid everything but, DAMN, it was a pain!

So I went out to get a 27 mm socket, and of course the 2 hardware stores close to me (Home Depot and Ace) don't have anything over a 22. Damn again. Had to drive out to Oak Brook to Sears to find them. $32 later for 2 sockets and a 1/2" driver. Today sucks, I quit.

Check back later to see if any thing else hilarious happens when trying to pull off the rear tire.

Well, nothing exciting happened when pulling off the rear wheel except a good cut on my pinky. I'm rather disappointed honestly.
