what can/do you do when people drive like pricks?

1. can you tape it and send it to the cops to get them in trouble?

2. if some shithead is tailgating you to each stoplight can you call the cops and say there is someone following you? then the cops come and pull him over and you say ever so sarcastically " oh, i'm sorry. i thought you were stalking me because you were tailgating me and making all those violent gestures. I was terified for my families safety. i hope you are not late getting somewhere "

3. do 1 and 2 maybe?

4. what do you do when someone is driving behind you with the brights on?

you could let it go but i think something should be done so they do not continue to do it...

If on the bike, I throw pennies. Hard to prove as evidence, and safe for other riders if one rolls over them. Tailgaters in the cage, I just keep slowing down until they pass.

yeah, i usually just give them room to pass. no need for me to control traffic. if they want to speed and drive like a-holes, I just make sure i'm out of the way and let them go ahead and do it.

Get their license plate number and call *999, tell them you suspect they're driving under the influence. Hey, if they're driving all dick-ish it can easily be mistaken for drunk driving.

My wife and I have done this twice, but both times we really did suspect drunk driving.

This can backfire if they were driving like a dick on purpose to piss you off somehow. The cops show up and tell them they were reported, they're going to know it was you that called.

Haha, that's good.

A funny branch of my pickup truck road rage story...

After Peanut and I finished up with the movies, we went to downtown Naperville just to kill some time and just ride some more...told Tex (that guy with the stretched vintage Kawi drag bike that's *always* there) about the road rage issue and Peanut almost getting hit. He doesn't even hesitate, he unzips his pocket and pulls out a golfball sized rock that looks very pointy and grins.

Let it go. One day you will throw a penny or a battery at the wrong person and end up dead or in the hospital. They are still in a 2000 lb cage, and if they have poor anger management, the 2000 lb. car will ALWAYS win vs. a 400 lb. motorcycle.

I'll sometimes (depending on the severity and where I am) just try to figure out what the problem is. I'll pull over and wave the guy/girl to stop next to me. You'd be surprised at what some people view as justification to act all pissy. If it's really stupid, I'll suggest we call the local PD and let them sort this out. If I don't have time to argue, I'll just diffuse it by telling them to have a good day. Niceness (even when undeserved) can cool off a hot situation. Be the better person and say a prayer for them and their loved ones.

In the end, after I cool off, I too realize it's best to let it pass.

If you're still interested in throwing stuff- sparkplug insulators, or any ceramic will make glass shatter instantly. So I've heard.

Oh! I totally forgot about that! We proved that to be true at a junk yard one day. Ceramic just spiderwebs the safety glass like a diamond, it's crazy!

Depending on your level of frustration...

In a car:

Drop behind them, and start tailgating them with the high beams on.

Use the hand brake to brake quickly so the rear brake lights don't come on.

On a bike:

If the car is low, high beams from behind is equally annoying due to the higher position of the bike.

Ride past, lift boot, kick off side view mirror. This can also be sometimes achieved purely with the hand. In this case remove the mirror and bounce it off the front hood.

At the lights, start stopping right next to the drivers window and revving your engine.

That is correct, It's a common way to break into cars. Attach a spark plug to a bit of string, then with a snapping action smack the window. You will still retain the spark plug and therefore leave less evidence.

yea but if your gonna do that it would have to be worst case scenario (sorta like highflying and peanuts the other day) because if bikes start tossing spark plugs then drivers are gonna get even more defensive with us. Either that or fear us

I've done alot of stupid things in the past. It's not worth your life to argue w/ a dumbass in a car. I've learned to shrug it off. Now that my wife is riding I'm especialy careful. I kicked off a mirror years ago on a small car and had to ride like hell to get away. I never did that again. Nor will I. That's why I have the signature that I have.

+1

Sometimes my temper gets the better of me, but especially on two wheels it's best to just give them room and get some distance...they can just do so much more damage to you than you can do to them.

sometimes its best to evaulate your own driving when someone is driving like a dick around you. there a lot of bad drivers, a lot of folks on the phone slowing us down, running into our lane, taking a 45 mph corner at 5 miles an hour while eating there sausage egg and cheese muffin from mcdonalds. my point is, sometimes the person you think is driving like a dick, realy isnt its YOU!!!!!

I use to do that to people, but while riding. I hate it when people talk on the cellphone and drive, so when I'd see someone serving, talking on the phone, I'd downshift a couple gears and get next to them. The full 2bros systems sings quite loudly at 10k RPMs

Train to shoot a gun while riding your bike. This is how CLSB deals with bike jackers and bad drivers.

Yeah know, I kinda got that feeling about him. It's funny that he has no life and is *always* just sitting there, downtown.

And I really thought he was going to bust out a 2" ball bearing. I was a bit dissapointed at the pointy rock. But I guess a rock is less traceable. LOL

i still prefer the sparklug + string if i kept anything with me. Cant chase what you cant see

oh and ditto on the downshifting. There are people who can drive while talking but then i see the dumbasses with their head cocked to the side to hold the phone up to their ear because the one hand is holding food and other hand is hanging out the window while driving with their knee's
