Resizing Pics

I've seen a few comments about it taking forever to resize pics. I use the below program and it only takes minutes.

It will resize all pics in a folder for you to whatever size you want.

It's called Pix Resizer

If u need help let me know!

uhhh, isn't supported in Vista. And it's freaking SLOOOOOOW. Plus the default size choices are outdated.

I did use it, but Irfanview does it 10x better.

This is old school:

(Change the scale variable to what you want like 1/2, 1/4, etc)

---*snip*---

#! /bin/sh

for F in *.jp*
do
NN=`echo "$F" | cut -d'.' -f1`
cat $F | djpeg -scale 1/2 | cjpeg -quality 100 > $NN-resize.jpg
done

---*snip*---

==========

Eureka:/Volumes/Fun/tdj Arch$ du -k ; ls -l *.jpg | wc ; time sh ./tryme.sh
48272 .
224 2016 15735

real 0m13.469s
user 0m9.794s
sys 0m5.461s

Cliff notes: 47 MB of pictures in 224 files, completes a 1/2 resize of all of them in just under 13.5 seconds

EDIT:
Being a complete geek, I then went back and backgrounded the djpeg/cjpeg jobs and waited for them all to complete so they would run on both G5 processors, and it did it in only 8.8 seconds for the same batch. quick enough....

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....
