Too damn hot to ride

Shit, let me state the obvious....it is boiling out. Any of you lunatics ride in this shit? I just got out of the health club and I thought I was having a brain aneurysm when I stepped outside. Thankfully a cold Corona once I got home cured it But I cannot even in the most extreme situation imagine riding in this to be enjoyable, especially since I am a gear nazi and would insist on gloves jacket and lid. I don't do it often but will have to pass on Strats tonight

No one should have to experience monkey butt and swamp ass both at the same time. Wait until the sun goes down on days like today.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

i hate the heat too but i've been riding to work n back in traffic and it's not too bad. my gf complains cuz i keep the a/c runnin all them time when i'm home tryin to make up for the a/c i couldn't have while on the bike. i guess i survive by keepin my mind off of the heat by finding something fun to do while riding. i'm like you, no gear=no riding. jacket, gloves n lid.

WSE is dead nuts on... riding at night is key, I had to work midnight to 4am the other night and I rode the Harley in. beautiful night to ride. I am riding to strats tonight which will suck but the ride home will be awesome.

Are you serious, I had the AC cranking the day it hit 78 outside . I can deal with cold weather, I hate hot weather. You can only take off so much, and since I ride with full gear on the bike, it is hell to be stuck at a light at 85+ temps with that crap on.

We only have one a/c unit in our house. It's in the bedroom. It hasn't been too bad this year. If it gets really hot we head to one of the P's house's. We'er still heading out tonite for Strats. My wife isn't happy about the heat but she knows that it's going to cool off later.

I haven't ridden today (not b/c its hot out though) but I rode to my uncle's house in Elmhurst from Niles. Traffic was a total bitch and I wasn't moving too much air b/c of it. Although once you start moving at like 45 you don't really feel the heat at all. If you are sweating beforehand, its even better because it enhances the cooling effect.

"But it's a dry heat!"

Name the movie

This is Chicagolalalaland...you ride anytime the roads are clear and the temperature is above 35....suck it up. If I can ride in 110 heat with full leathers anyone can ride when its 95, with a mesh jacket, jeans, gloves and a lid....bunch of nancies An half the fun of riding in traffic is finding another way

I keep telling you call, CoolMax gear makes a huge difference.

CoolMax Shirts, and Coolmax socks (especially with Gortex boots) made a huge difference in my hot weather comfort.

I was sportin' my new Vanson last night (and showing it to everyone silly enough to walk by), and I was fine as long as I was in motion. Actually, I was wishing I wasn't so damn tired...I really wanted to ride more!
