Itunes question

Is there an option for a column in your library for playlist? I would love to know if a song is already on a playlist or not.

You can sort the songs in your playlist by song name etc..Just click on the column..name, time.. etc. of how you want it sorted. If it is the same name time it will be right below the first one or duplicate.

Don't you mean back seat rider?

That is not what I am asking for. When I open my library and see my zillion songs, I want a column that tells me what playlist I have a certain song in that will go next to the song name, genre, and other columns you can have show up there.

I don't think you can do that, one conflict would be if you had the song in two different playlist. I have some songs that are in 6 different playlists on my IPOD, so it would be difficult to sort songs that way.

nope. you can right mouse click on any of the column headers and see a list of other column fields that you can add/remove

the easy way to see if a song is in a particular playlist is to select that playlist and then type part of the title or artist in the search field

Funny, I asked the same thing when I was first setting up my Itunes too. Everybody said "Why do you need to know that?", but I think it would help to know if you have a particular song in that playlist to avoid putting it in twice or not putting it in at all. I thought Apple was the bomb, why are we giving improvements to them?

as far as I know the best way to do this is to right click on the particular song and go to "show in playlist" and it will list which ones the song is in
