ok, I need some advice

Here I am in Taiwan visiting my family. (I love the U.S passport, I have never thought that I can enter these many countries without visa, including my origin)

Here is the situation, please keep an open mind that I am in a third world country. Yesterday I was attacked by some stray dogs and one of my neighbors' dog (at the same time). I confronted the neighbor and of course he told me to go fvck myself. Ok, there isn't much we can do here, police will not get involved with this kind of crap here. However, this is not the first time that those dogs attacked pedestrians.

I worry about my family, especially my mom and my baby sister being attacked. In the past, they just carry a staff with them, but I am trying to find a more effective way of protections, I don't really want to physically harm the dogs by swinging a staff at them.

After visiting the pet stores, I have found some tools, please share with me your experiences on these devices, and the effectiveness against untrained stray dogs. If you have a better solution(s), please do share. I want to be as humane as possible, but I also seek the best protections as well.

1: dog whistle
2: a weird ultra sound device
3: pepper spray
4: a katana (jk)

Thanks in advance

Ultra sound device or a stun gun. If it persist and the people nor police do anything about it poison those sucka's (joke) But that is not cool that your family over there has to carry around staffs to protect themselves from the neighbors dogs.

Why are you concerned about "harming" dogs that are attacking you? Don't under estimate a pack of dogs!

If you want to be nice - use pepper spray. Dogs REALLY hate that shit. Their noses are so sensitive to it. A couple of sprays with that and they will be running when they see you walking their way.

But I am with BusaDave and YZFRob - don't f-around with dogs like this. I would find a way to put a permanent end to this problem because if they do get hold of your mum or sister....

you say you were attacked..describe attacked..to what degree.

Im a dog lover but these dogs need to be eliminated from what I've read so far

dog whistle-attracts dog attention
ultra sonic device- like a late night infomercial
pepper spray-effective but will only irritate the dogs..until next time.

Utilize the 3 S's

shoot shovel and shut up. If the cops dont care about you being attacked then they wont care about you getting rid of the dogs

+1 on pepper spray.

Don't mess around. Then, when its time to fly home, give it as gift to them.

They DO know not to 'show fear' right? but rather YELL and BE ALPHA. (but, not everyone thinks to take this advice when animals are around).

My friend overseas is regularly having the same trouble. His conclusion - rubber baton / staff are the most effective. One can completely neutralize an attacking dog with a single blow (or kill it). Pepper spray may be dangerous to you / ineffective when there is a strong wind/rain.

Yeah, it is gross but if you're under attack all is good. I do love dogs. But I wouldn't hesitate blowing their brains out if they attack me.

Everyone knows how much of an animal freak I am.....but, if these are stray dogs who just look to attack all day then you need to completely get rid of them.

How old is your baby sister? Is she really going to carry pepper spray or a staff on her at all times when playing? I doubt it. Your mom and sister should not have to constantly walk around "armed" because of these crazy dogs. It's hard to do but whatever you do, make sure it's quick and as painless as can be.

To get your mind thinking correctly; Ask yourself this question:

Who would you rather see dead, your family or the dogs?

Now deal with it.

though pepper spray is kinda up close personal shit if a dog is coming at you it can pretty much be biting your dick off while you cry in pain spraying its face with pepperspray. so something that puts space between you and the dogs is what i would suggest

Thanks everyone for their advice and opinions. Unfortunately I have a better chance to hire a virgin prostitute than owning a fire arm (legally). The 2nd amendment here is probably about kung Pao chicken, but I know for sure it is not about the right to keep and bear fire arms.
I will look into pepper spray tomorrow, I am now playing with the dog flute with the neighbor's dog, he does not like it too much.

Here is the quick story of the attack.
After the bus ride, there is a short walk before I can reach my front door. The streets here are very narrow, just imagine the streets in downtown Chicago are 2x wider.
4 dogs blocking the left side of the street. I walked around, and they were barking, growling. As I walked pass them, they started to follow and was being more aggressive. I turned around and thinking they were just fvcking around. and was I wrong? they started attacking my hand ( I had my arm out stiffed arm)
I did not like my odds and ran like a chicken shit. I ran a good 20 yards and in front of me was my neighbor's dog Billy running toward me. Just as I thought I had an ally. Billy, my neighbor's dog charged towards me doing the same thing those stray dos were doing. I dashed around Billy and continued to run toward my home. Fear turned into anger, and I was in rage. I turned around and determined to fvck something up. I was yelling at those damn dogs and was ready to fight.

Before I could get my ass chewed up by these 5 dogs. My dogs must have heard me from the house. They all jumped the fence and came to rescue . I got home safe thanks to my three dogs.

"fin"

Keep your arms up and either have something to hit them with or be ready to grab at the soft tissue at their throats and crush it.

A good kick to the neck works well too.. the neck.. not the chest. Hit their throat. Wear a good pair of boots or heavy shoes w/ a hard sole.

Obviously, if you can avoid the situation, that is best.. but dogs do love to chase and they also guard the territory they think is theirs. You've got a number of instinctual things going on with them.... See if you can observe who is the alpha dog and kick his ass. They'll leave you alone then.
