anyone been to that UIC pavilion (i am going to see disturbed)

Ive never been to a concert...but I love to hear the music of Disturbed.

Anyway I got the best tickets they had..and they wernt even that bad of a price either...the tickets on line said they were G.A. general admittance for ground floor (from the way it looks on the UIC place info...its somewhere on the ground floor infront of the stage.

BUT????? there is no seating # or anything?....so what is this first come first serve the closer you get to the stage?

If so..holy shit! Ive never camped outside for close seats or what ever before..and I sure as hell dont want to be all the way in the back.

anyone know about this place, and how the seating stuff goes for the area i am in?

Ken, you are in fact in the mosh pit. The general admission means you get a wrist band on the entry of the show that gets you to the floor where there are no seats. You can get all the way up to the stage without any probs. Moshing is fun as hell. I have been to some of the hardest shows and moshed my ass off.
Pantera, White Zombie, Megadeath, coal chamber to name a few. The best part about the floor in general and the pit specifically is that yes you get to beat the shit out of people by running into each other and pushing and shoving. However, it is also a very cool and nice area to be in also. Everyone out there is hitting the shit out of each other but everyone pays attention to people. If someone is hurt or falls down people help them up and get them on their way. I guess it is a civilized form of masacism. They are fun though. Disturbed is good live too. Make sure to drink a lot of water, the pit and floor area is typically the hottest part of the concert and it is like 100 degrees or so down there.

Also, the UIC doesnt sell any liquor since it is a college campus so drink up before the show. Enjoy.

Oh and no camping out needed to get up to the front of the floor to see the stage. you can get there even after the show starts since all you have to do is push you way up. Typically the floor is only half full once the show starts since everyone pushes forward so you will have the best views possible no matter where you are.

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!

Last GOOD concert i went to was back in 1990 and it was MTV Day on the Green in Oakland Ca. It was Billy Idol/ Scorpions /Faith No More / and Metallica.

We were close to the mosh pit and it turned into a brawl Fest from HELL! Great time though!

You will have a blast.!

Piece of advice----Bring Good ear plugs if you are that close to the stage. It won't stop the music but will decrease the highs that make your ears ring for 2 days. No shit it actually hurts and at the Metallica concert i was up all night from the ringing in my ears. Better to have pugs and not need em than vice a versa.

That part sucked.

Thats a great idea to have earplugs. I have had my ears ring for longer than 2 days so that is a fantastic idea.

Also wear a shirt that you dont care about because it will probably get stretched out.

KICK ASS!!!!!!!!

1 problem, if someone pushes me...i push back so hard..in the right place..then have no choice but to hit the floor first with there head..but i will try to reframe from that unless some one hurts me a touch to bad...i like pain..but only when i want it.

LOL don't put your wallet in your back pocket either!

Expect to get bumped/pushed/hit quite a good deal, but don't be conncentrating on retaliatnig(sp) else you're gonna miss 3/4 of the concert because security will be busting your ass. go, knock some heads around, but be smart about it! you're not there to crack heads open, just beat them around some!

I wouldn't bring the wallet period. Even if it's not all ages, I doubt you'll get carded

I usually took just the key to the car, and tie/secure it to a convenient spot on my jeans (if you have one of those small pockets inside the big one, that's best). It gets out of control there, last thing you want is to keep checking if you lost your sh!t.

My girlfriend went with a friend of mine. I guess she was on the fence by the stage most of the night. She never even heard of disturbed before and she loved it. I guess I forgot to tell her about ear plugs........she couldn't hear out of her right ear all day Sunday.he also had bodysurfers land on her head and got punched inthe jaw on accident. Sounds like fun.......

I had a flannel shirt tied around my waist at a Misfits and Gwar concert that got pulled off and thrown on stage. If you're not inside the pit doing the tossing you'll find it'll be hard to stand in one place when the people you're pressed against push in every direction. Personally I like to be on the edge of the pit and not in it because when the big guys fling the little guys at you, you can sling-shot 'em right back like a human rubber band. It's cool to watch 'em take flight.

Don't worry about her, she loved every minute of it. I had been at a bachelor party getting lit all evening and she strolled in about 12:30 all smiles . My buddy is built pretty well, and I guess he spent most of the night holding the crowd back for her and his friend's girlfriend.

It's not my kind of thing, but it sounds like everyone of you that went enjoyed it.

This is a girl, BTW, who has only been to two concerts in her life. John Cougar Mellencamp and Jimmy Buffet. I NEVER imaginged she'd like to see Taproot, Disturbed and Chevelle.
