Augie's Place in Elgin, kinda by Quad Cities which gives him a lot of business from fixing their fuck ups. Private rooms, fun guy, really puts you at ease. Did mine, my sister's 2, her fiancee's and her friend's.

I just got my last one done at Uptown Tattoo Factory in Chicago and they did a great job on mine and a friends... They were really cool even though I was screaming the entire freaking time...

Ask Dave13, his wife is a tattoo artist I think...

My wife is a body piercer, and has had the pleasure to work on a few members from CLSB. I recommend B-Distinct Tattoos in Crestwood for ink and body piercing. The shop owner Brian does really nice work, prefers to draw and design tattoos, and runs a very clean shop. My mom ownes a tattoo shop less than a mile from Brians shop, and I still hands down recommend B-Distinct. I have a Nightmare before Christmas theme on my right leg, and have about 80 to 100 hours of work on it. I am very happy with the work, and have about 20 hours left. BTW, my wife is in semi-retirement, and not working in any shop at this time, so no bias from me. Ken, have you talked to Brian yet about the work you want done?

Depends if you're looking for some ordinary flash or you want custom tattoos. Top Notch Tattos in Elgin if Cleen Rock One still works there, he might have moved to Vegas by now though. If you're looking to get custom I would shell out the dough for this guys work. Haven't really seen any other decent shops around, most are overpriced for the quality of workmanship. Of course I haven't visited every shop in chicagoland but that's just the feeling I get.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,

'The Light at the End of the Tunnel' has been turned off.

+1 on B-distinct. I didn't get ink there but my eyebrow piercing was super quick healing.

Yeah...he came to my house and re-did 2 of mine...and did a new one...and they still look like they were done yesterday...that was about 2 years ago.

I'm working on my next one and was going to start it since I've got some down time....but it's on my back...and with my collarbone I can't really sit in the position that I need to....ARGH!!!!

That would kill some time!!

I would highly recommend "Flesh Gear" in Joilet. They have really good artists and are EXTREMELY anal about cleanliness. Also are very knowledgeable about healing/care issues. Those guys rock!
