what do I need to use google live maps on my cell and other questions.

Work is talking about picking up a new cell for me,
There are a lot of phone features I don't care about but live google maps seems like it would be a handy thing.

so what do I neeed to use google maps
just a browsing package how does the gps fit into this... are there separate charges ?

the phone mentioned in the funny papers link (funny as hell bash on the iphone) http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone
(Nokia E70)
seemed like it had some cool features, able to use standard wireless for browsing / ssh .ing in a tight spot to fix something, full qwerty, but the phone was over a year old and didn't know how well it really fit into current technologies.

If I get this can I hook it to a laptop to get kb articles patches etc when I'm at places I don't have internet access.
we have an exchange server at work that has a web interface as well.

I know zip about cell phone integration into networking technologies
so in as plain English as possible would be helpful
carrier is probably US Cellular if it makes a difference.
any other recommendations.

Thanks a bunch

You need a phone with internet access and one that supports Google maps. That's it. If you really want to splurge, make sure your phone is GPS enabled and pay the $10 a month for turn by turn GPS navigation on your phone. Kick ass.
