F*ck the IL Dept of Transportation...

What the fuck are they fucking thinking putting that fucking wire barrier on the fucking median of fucking I90? Armco is bad enough when it involves motorcycles, but this stuff is fucking fatal to a simple lowside. If they are having problems with cars crossing the median, maybe IL shouldnt just hand out licenses like candy to every fucktard mouth-breather that applies.

I noticed that sh*t this morning on the way to work. I didn't even think about what that would do to a rider. Yikes. Nice job IDOT. Guess it's worth sending them 'our thoughts'?

It's a bummer, but fact is we're about 3% of the population, they need to stop cross-over accidents. I can't stand the sight of that shit either, but it is what it is...worth a shot with the emails though!

Suggested to IDOT that they should use deep gravel if they need to prevent crossovers. Would be safer for the biker and also can stop semi traffic.

It's called a High-Tension Cable Barrier System:

Here's some info on it from IDOT:
http://www.dot.il.gov/materials/htcmedianbarrier.pdf

I saw miles of this stuff this weekend along I-55 on my trip to St. Louis, mostly near Springfield and south of Joliet. The ironic part is there were large "Start seeing motorcycles!" signs right next to miles of this cheese-grater median.

holy crap, those pics made me cringe just thinking if a biker hit that. Another great design by our fellow idot financial committee. Save cost and kill a rider.
