i pooped myself alittle...

my dudy Brian and i where an are way to SOW about 6:55pm on the Elgin O’Hare when i hear this funky noise. it raining pretty good and the back of the bike gets loose, so i figure i'm hydroplaning and i ease off the throttle just a little. now the back gets squerly as hell so i grab the clutch and baby it to the shoulder. the rear tire BLEW OUT so now im sittn on the shoulder in the rain as people honk at me when they drive by i figure i was far from safe on the shoulder in the rain so i hop back on the bike and ease it to the next exit.

all is good now the bike is back home and no one got hurt. scary ride though. Brian has a tire changer and he is gunna throw a tire on for me (one he has layn around)until i get a new one.

Thank you for saving my ass AGEAN Brian (bde269) and taking ANOUTHER one of my broke bikes home for me

Glad it wasn't anything more serious than tire damage and glad you weren't stuck out in the middle of nowhere waiting for someone to come get ya.

I was heading to the gas station anyway to get a Monster when I saw your friend trying to get in front of some cars in the turn lane to get to the Citgo. I figured I'd follow behind him in case someone in their car wasn't paying attention, I get in the lot and I'm like, "Hey, I know him!"

Is it a pre-requisite that you have to poop yourself whenever a tire blows out??

I swear in that area, I see people with flats all the time. Two weeks ago in a space of less than 1/4 mile I saw 5 cars with flats...5 I swear that someone is dropping debris on that stretch of road. Vivid was following me last year back from STN's Meat and Greet in Clearfield PA...we had left late and trying to make time and at @100 MPH I had the rear blow out, what a significant emotional event....Anna thought I was going down...actually so did I. Remember if you get a blowout, brake only with the tire that is still good, you did everything right Good job!

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

Glad you're alright.....blowouts are scary. Had my rear go out at about 80mph and that "loose feeling" rear is very scary.

glad to hear you kept it under control, I've rode witha flat but not a blow out before. makes me think of that video from a couple years back of Mladin blowing the rear in a race, only difference was he didn't have a ton of cagers running up his ass.
