burntash goes down, E! true hollywood story

So I'm making my way down rt30 and everything is fine and dandy, roads are slick a little TOO slick for me.

I turn off rt30 onto some backroads. I'm making a left turn, wide, slow like 25-30mph i think, anyway the road was too wet for the lean I was in and the bike just lays on its left side and enters a lowside sliding bout 20ft into the curb. it looked something like this

I wish I could say I'm joking when I say that in my helmet i was going "weeee" while grinding shoulder into the pavement but I did, probably because i knew i had gear on and I was sliding on wet pavement and going really slow. I think I saw God, Satan, Yoda, and Obiwan hold up scorecards, 7, 8, 8, 9!, Thanks Obi Wan....

Anyway, I'm layin there on the street, my bikes like 20 ft away by the curb so I walk over to the 250, first thing i do is take off my helmet and fucking spit on it and shout "dont you ever lowside again you piece of shit!" which was promptly followed by me getting down and hugging/kissing it saying "sorry baby i didnt mean to yell, but you cant try and hurt daddy like that..."

I picked the bike up and walked it around the corner into some guys driveway to collect myself and check out the damage. I walked by to where I went down and didn't see any parts cracked off or laying around but I did see a giant gasoline puddle where I had turned so I think thats what did me in with the wet road. My left armsleeve has some black on it but not really any tear. my jeans barely got torn at all they still look brand new theres only a few strands undone by my left thigh. So I'm completely fine, the left side of my wrist hurts a little bit like its bruised but I can move it so I'm just packing some ice around it at the moment.

So then I'm looking at my bike and theres a few scratches on it and thats it. I think the wet pavement really helped me and the bike slide instead of grind it down so its not bad at all. The bike started up fine and I didn't see any leakage and I took it up and down the side street checkin how it shifted and how the breaks were everything worked. The bike feels like it slants a lil to the left when I was riding it but maybe thats cause I went down on my left side and it just FEELS that way. I'd still like to get the bike checked out by someone (anyone here?) to see if its just cosmetic or if theres been any mechanical.

After the lowside I did what I think anyone here would do. I went to best buy and treated myself to some dvds and then I went and got some Portillos. I believe I shall have a beer now.

Like I said I'm fine not a scratch on me just the left ball of my wrist hurts/bruises a little but other than that I am ok, gear did its job.

This week sucks ASS! who needs a beer?

Jeff you got the worst luck dude.

Glad your ok. I'm sure the bike is fine. You might have rotated / bent one of the clipons when you went down. Might be why it feels funny now. No big deal hopefully

i know this week sucks ass but ya a few scratches, bike actually barely looks like it went down like i said it was more of a slide than grind cause of the wet pavement. but id still like it checked out cause it does feel a lil funny like its leaning left on the front wheel but it was rideable i had to ride it home for an hour still after crashing it that was a fun relaxing drive...

Hey brother. I had a premonition about you lowsiding...that's why I asked three times if you were OK to ride home. I wanted to talk you into grabbing a bite to eat till the rain blew over, but I wasn't sure if we'd be worse off if we waited...I'm sorry I didn't now.

I'm glad you're OK, and while I'm not a mechanic, I'd be happy to go over your bike with you.

dude, you are the most upbeat person ever. Big props for the attitude and your enjoyment of your crash (weeeeee). I'd give you rep if you had yelled SPARTAAAAAA but I'm glad you're Ok. And think of it this way, the left side of the bike just got a little wash, spray down the right and it'll be all shiny again.
