Mazda Miata???

so does any one have a miata i can take a look at??

for my second job i work at Midwest Speed and Performance, i put together hot rod and street cars. well as the story goes a guy i built a mustang for wants me to put together his sons Mazda Miata. his son decided it would be a good idea to strip the car, motor, wiring harness, lights, full drive train ex. he got in over his head and now im trying to put this car back together. the little f-r lost half the parts and MOST the bolts/nuts.

i have the motor built, trans built and i have put it in the car. this is where things get a little "fuzzy" i have never worked on a miata before so i'm just winging it.

i can't fined where the oil pressure sender goes. sounds like a easy part to fined but it seems to evade me. Alldate tells me it goes on the upper left side of the motor. THERE IS NO OIL PASSEGE THERE

it would really help if i had a car to look at and match [email protected]#t up with......

not that i know much about miata's but i'm pretty sure they've put different engines in them over the years and maybe for different trim levels as well. you might want to post the year and trim level as well

AllData is 100 times better than a Napa service manual, so I think he's coevered there.

Sounds like you got a fun task in front of you. Good Luck.

I've got an '04 Mazdaspeed, so it's probably way too different... Along with the regular Miata forums, try the Windy City Miata Club. They're a pretty big group and maybe someone local can help you out.

I would love to own an older RX7 with a LS1 swap in it. The great thing is that the LS1 weighs about the same as the motor in it, so the handling wouldn't be that greatly affected.

wow, what at asshat, no need to get your panties all in tight little bunch. Personally I don't have a miata (autox greatness), If I did I'd let him take a look at it, but since I don't I recommended that he get himself a genuine mazda fsm (not some hanes crap). If he looks around on the net he'll probably be able to find a free .pdf version of it.

I'm not going to post advice on anything that is beyond my comprehension, so I tried to give some advice if you don' like it

Oh and hit up a miata forum, If they're anything like nissan freaks (they are), they'll help you alot more than we'll be able to.

I found this picture on AllData. The oil pressure sensor is all the way on the bottom and the tag points to a spot on the engine right next to the oil cap.
