Talking Woohoo!!!! good news

I just contacted the school where I took some classes as a "student at large" a year ago.

I ONLY HAVE EIGHT CLASSES LEFT!!!!! to finish my MBA.

Now I gotta figure out a way to finish up and not cut into riding time.

Eight classes = about 2 years time taking 2 a semester with summers off. It's a big time committment, trust me I know

It's also anywhere from $5,000-15,000 in tuition and books.

Most recent FINA undergrads only have to take 10 classes to earn an MBA....your 2 classes ahead...woohooo!

Go ahead rain on my parade.

My curriculem calls for 12-13 classes and I've already taken care of a Financial Analysis Focus, one core class and an elective. All that is required of me is to finish the remanding 7-8 core classes.

Believe me I know what committement is.

I could finish this in a year if I want and be done with it. We'll have to see what the course schedule is and where classes are held to make my decision on that.

It only means one summer away from you guys

BTW: my company pays for everything but books as long as I pass and the cost for this curriculum is more like $15000 +

Hey Kruz,

where are you getting 10 classes.

I'm showing most universities at 12-16 courses.

Did you get yours out of a Cracker Jack box. LOL L/K buddy

Cheerios box actually.

Didn't mean to rain on your parade...just trying to get you motivated.

Since I was an FINA undergrad and really really smart , the phase one courses as NIU calls them were waived.

I gotchya

that makes since since I'm a dumby

Thanks for the motivation. I've been finding it hard to step up to the plate and bat from all the corporate crap going on around here. I've been calling around today and I'll probably start this fall and bang out those classes. I know it's best reguardless of my frustrations and I guess in a sense I'd get my raise by them paying for classes. and they'd pretty much have to do something for me when I get the degree.

They don't "have" to do anything if you get your MBA. I'd hate to see a thread x years from now about you not getting a promotion.

The MBA and any other higher learning will make you more attractive on paper....not necessarily more attractive to your firm.

You need to make yourself so valuable to your firm that they can't afford to not keep you happy. Sounds easy enough, right?

It's very tough to do.

I understand Kruz It just doesn't seem to matter cause nothing is seen as valuable around here

I know they don't have to do anything per say. It's just that my resume will look pretty snappy with 5 years trading experience on top ranked funds and an MBA.
