sometimes it happens like that.

just maximize it and then close it
then open it again and see if that helps ya.

windows tends to remember the size of a certin windows the last time you closed it.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

My computer was doing that not long ago.
I think that pop up stopper may be doing that.
since then i installed Norton Internet secuity.

uninstall pop-up, to see if thats it.

reboot your computer with the XP install Cd in the drive and it should boot to the cd. Once it loads it'll give you the option the install a fresh copy or to repair. Go with the repair option and it will repair any error in OS, with out the need to reformat. Im using XP home and ive had a similar problem, no idea what caused it.

I was having the same problem. This is how I fixed it:
Open an IE window. Stretch it so it covers the screen (don't use the maximize button). Hold down the Ctrl key then hit "Close" in the "File" pull down (don't use the X in the upper right). The next time you open a window it should fill the screen.

Actually after many, many patches from Microsoft, my XP is actually starting to work. It always did work, but it was a pain, like I couldn't download TurboTax this year, took better part of a Sunday to get that done. They did not have a driver for my Xerox WorkCentre XK35c, which is a great machine and I was damned if I was going to buy another. My PalmPilot would not hot sync. I use a check writing program called VersaCheck, which will not load into XP, I'm still printing checks from an old HP on Win 98. I even bought the upgrade of the program so it would run on XP. But, I must admit it is a much more stable operating system than 95 or 98.

Believe it or not, I have XP Professional running on my computer and it has never locked up or frozen on me once since I started using it probably 8 months ago. XP wins my vote.
