Christmas Grab Bag Rant

Okay my inlaws do a grab bag for Christmas two years in a row I get the shaft. Last year I my sister inlaw gets my name. Well her lazy trailer park no working ass has to borrow money from my wife to buy the gift and still gets the wrong thing. This year her even more of a low life boyfriend gets my name. So I guess I have to borrow them money to get the wrong thing again.

borrowing the money is bullshit

but grab bag shouldnt be picked by you. they buy something they think youd like and then give you the receipt so you can return it later for what you really want

C'mon Bro - You're better than that - Be happy you can help those who are less fortunate

I do however see your point - Sorry to hear of it too

Set your expectation to merely be "How fucked up of a gift can they get me this year?!"

You'll not be disappointed anymore.. but instead will laugh your ass off.

When they ask for 35 cents, flip them 2 quarters and ask them for 15 cents..while you hold your hand out tapping your foot.

I have the same answer every time - I smile and look them in the eyes and respond with, "No thank you, I am all set" - Then watch the puzzlement run wild across their face as you continue to walk - By the time they get it, you are blocks away

I merely hold them to exactly what they say.

"I need money for gas"
...Then I'll follow you and we'll use my credit card to buy the gas.

Only 1 lady in CA ever took me up on that in a lifetime of being given that reason over 100 times.

"I need money for a sandwich".
...Then come with me, and I'll buy you a sandwich.

No one ever took me up on that one.

I don't mind helping people who really need it. And if they really need it, then fine. But, most just give a line of bullshit. To the person holding a sign stating the honest: I need beer money I tend to flip a dollar to for honesty

One of the ONLY times I have ever complied with such requests was in NYC about 6 years ago when a begger was on a milk crate doing his thing and he looked at me and smiled and said, 'Hey buddy, can ya spare $100.00" - I laughed and told him I like how he sets the bar high and gave him $10.00 and told him I was missing a zero

One time a guy stopped me in a parking lot said he needed 10 bucks for a can of fix a flat. When I handed him the can that I had in my car he just about shit.

BTW the rant was for the hell of it. It has always been my luck like that. In grade school the outsiders always got my name in the grab bag. In the Army 100 identical things get issued I get the one that is defective. It is just my luck.

A. The don't break down - They simply refuse to operate without more TLC
B. You don't pose with a Duc - You admire those who are admiring you

There is much still to learn oh young one but your enthusiastic ways are the beginning of your new & improved lifestyle - Your food will taste better - The air will seem crisper - Your load will increase by 1.9 fluid ounces

dick portillo is the best example of what someone from cabrini green can do with their life.

from the portillos website
Dick Portillo was born at 1333 West Van Buren in Chicago, Illinois. His family then moved to a government-subsidized housing project on Mohawk Street, called Mother Francis Cabrini Housing Project, now part of Cabrini Green. After his father started earning an income of $2,000 a year, they were prompted to leave and moved to 1617 South Central Park. His family later moved to the southwest suburbs. He was a 1957 graduate of Argo Community High School at 63rd and Harlem. After High School, he served a tour in the Marine Corps.
