Anybody in your life you envy???

Well I have a friend who I meet through RC51.org his name is Tom and screen name is greyhound. He is 70 years old and is pretty quick for his age. Only a couple seconds off my pace. This guy goes to more trackdays in a year thatn anyone I know and all of his bikes are nicer than the ones at the Barber Museum. He does all his own work to his bikes and all of his bikes have the best parts money can buy. Put it this way this guy pulls off the stock fairings and clear coats them before he ever rides them. He is so anal about everthing you cannot even walk into his trailer without taking your shoes of lol. When I did I want to come back as him.

He is the most friendliest guy you could ever met. There have been about 10 guys on this board that have met him at the Jennings trackday and they know how much everyone looks up to him. The best part about Tom is that he rides everybike he owns and it is cleaner than a new bike that rolls off the show room floor.

One example.......... At a RC51.org event trackday at Barber. Its raining and Tom has covers on his bikes under an ez up. Rain stops and we are all bs ing under his pit. He pulls off the covers and starts wiping down his bikes because they got a little wet (like 2 drops of watrer ) Now get this as this will stick in my mind for ever. As he is wiping the bikes down with a white diaper type material rag he wipes is chain off and i look at the rag and the rag is clean without a ounce of dirt on it. It made me sick but opened my eyes. Every time I work or clean my bikes I have in the back of my mind that it is never enough. WWTD What would tom do LOL Well here are a couple of pics of his garge. These are not all his bike as he has soem that are not in these photos. I can't even count how many man hours there are to working on his bikes. Also how much money he dumps into them.

Here is one of his build up when he first bought one of his RC 51's

Many hours of sanding and polishing by hand. Over 200 hours

There's a distinction between 'admire' and 'envy'.

I admire many. Envy none.

Everyone Exaggerates

Glad to hear that someone is living retirement the way I would, I wouldn't say envy either, but seeing stuff like this motivates the hell out of me to work my ass off to buy toys and take care of them like this.

Wow, that is amazing and kinda creppy at the same time. That 916 is

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

I remember an earlier post you left talking about him. Super nice bikes. The pic you left of him is going to be me in 35 years. But i will live in Florida, I love Disneyworld.

Now all of you go away so I can continue rubbing my nipples and looking at that 916. Dave13 has cash for that 916. True story.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
