15.6 million end to end will cover the 1,969mile distance... 1 brick high and 1 brick deep.

About 43 high will get you 8 feet... but that's assuming the bricks are only at ground level....again 1 brick deep.

So, just 670.8 million bricks to get to that inadequate spot.

But yeah.. go ahead with that awesome idea.

Everyone Exaggerates

I think it's an awesome idea. Obviously they would never be able to send enough bricks to build a wall and I really hope you aren't being serious, Arch.

Definitely hope this gets the message across.

To each their own. I'm personally against illegal aliens since I have to go through the legal processes to remain legal.

Spending money on a wall isn't going to stop jack crap. It's just going to build something ineffective and waste a ton of money to do it.

Seems to me that we can pull in the revenue problem w/ the federal govt if we make it easier to fast track people into the tax paying system and severely up the penalties to the point where someone making the decision to be a repeat hirer of people not in the tax system basically runs the risk of losing their entire business no matter what size it is.

Cut off the problem at the source (employers) and the rest tends to itself.

Very true. I still believe that there needs to be more monitoring of the borders in the meantime while the incentive is taken away (stopping the employers) Not necessarily a physical wall but better monitoring which in many ways is more effective than a wall. Their form letter discusses that as well.

I just find it irritating that I just had to spend $370 to renew my green card and I pay taxes while others feel free to wander into the country for free and dodge taxes.

You know the stats: 1969 miles of border just with Mexico.

Get a price quote for a wall that will 'work' and won't be easily defeated by cutting a hole in, digging under, throwing large mats over (defeating razor wire), etc. etc.

..that's just for the wall. Now, what's the ongoing cost to patrol it?

Do you think you'll get that much in 'fines' on an ongoing basis to make the economics of this sustainable?

Since this isn't about race, let's make sure we have one for Canada too. That one is 3145 miles on top of the mexican one.

Do not build a wall. Use the bricks to throw at people illegally crossing the border. They will get the hint pretty soon. Or just move the Berlin wall here.
