after previous unsuccessful attempts to make a movie out of the Omega Man I'd like to see one finally do it right. Looks good now, I'll probably see it upon release.

i like these kind of apocalyptic movies myself too but im always disappointed how it gets tied up in the end. Like I am expecting whatever "it" is thats there with will smith in the movie, im sure it will be retarded.

its always fun and interesting to see the destruction of the world/a city. just like this new movie coming out that looks like a godzilla type flick. 01-18-08/cloverfield

http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/

but i cant help but feel upcoming disappointment.

I'm anxiously waiting for this movie to come out also.
I can't think of a bad movie that Will Smith has done?

hahahaa!!! Will Smith plays only one character: Will Smith. think about it, he's played the exact same character in every single movie. I'm hoping this movie is good, but I'm sure it would have been better with someone like Christian Bale or something.

Agreed. he doesn't suck like Ben Affleck, but he's no Edward Norton

Good call, I dont want to give the impressive that I havent enjoyed some of his movies. I'd much rather watch a Will Smith movie than an Affleck movie, except Good Will Hunting but then that movie was carried by Williams and Damon.

One of the few films of his I've not seen, ironic since I think his "Will Smith" character would probably be good for the Ali role.

pursuit of happiness?

legend of bagger vance? though that was a damon flick, but will smith was definately good in that

but yea will does seem to play the same character: bad boys, independence day, i robot, shit even Hitch. and im sure LEGEND will be no different it looks that way already. he does play the same character over and over but i enjoy the flicks hes in so i give him the benefit of the doubt.

Has anybody seen the original versions of this movie? The Las Man on Earth with Vincent Price, The Omega Man? I ordered the Price flick on Blockbuster and am waiting for it. The Omega Man is not available for rental, anybody own it?

I loved the Omega Man because he has his own building and can drive RIGHT INTO IT. Man, I thought that was the coolest thing, ever!

In fact, me and a few pals are always seeking out an 'omega man' type building just for kicks. How awesome would it be to ride your motorcycle right into your building and take the elevator up to your pad with it? Boss!

As for will smith, he's not really an actor (any more than bruce willis is) but thats okay, John Wayne made a career out of being himself too. Its all good.

The movie is about the choices people make and where you may end up as a result of those choices, but if you make no choice others will make the decision for you. It's a film critics dream.

That said, the point of the movie is well above that of your average movie watcher and you're likely to hear a number of people in the crowd make comments like 'What the fuck was that?' 'Can we go home now?' 'That was the stupidest movie EVER.'

Avoid taking women along, and if at all possible don't watch it on the big screen.
