335i Sedan?

I know there are a couple on here. I wanted to get the owners impressions. I am thinking of picking this up for the wife. I know it has no LSD which is something I will definitely add shortly after picking it up. But does anyone have any gripes about the car. I know BMW isn't known for its reliability either, any issues yet?

If the 335i is too much car then I'd bet the S5 is too much as well.

And don't you mean 2 LSD? One for each axel?

If you do it, get the 335xi. It rocks and with AWD will be good in the snow.

LSD = limited slip differential?

Not something I would think would be an economical add-on

My moms traded in her RWD 3 series for and Xi. She hated the 2wd in the snow. She has no complaints about the Xi....and she complains about everything

LSD is great. Buy her this:

http://audiworld.com/news/07/b8-s4-exclusive-preview/

------------------

We have confirmed with inside sources that the B8 S4 will debut with a brand new 3.0-liter TFSI bi-turbo producing 330-hp. With this powerplant Audi can nearly match the B7's 340-hp output while providing even better performance figures. Manufacturer published (conservative) 0-60mph drops from 5.4 seconds to very low 5's, while the accompanying combined fuel economy rises from 17 mpg to over 20 mpg.

My wife is looking at the 328i. After the Honda it looks like she'll be getting that.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I've never owned a BWM but if I had the ability too I would and it would definitly be the 335xi, I love that car, but have you seen the 2008 and what they are doing with it, also coming out with a 2 series and the top of the 2 series is suppose to really compete with the 3 series, I think it was motor trend I was reading this in

My S5 jab was directed towards Biggy.

I love my 335xi but for ~$7,000 less your wife might consider the 328xi which has the non TT engine. If you havent priced them out yet you will be surprised how quickly a nicely equipped 335 can creep above $50k with xis being the most expensive of them all.

There are also some known issues with the 335's one being faulty fuel pumps and the other being the lack of a second oil cooler on some models causing them to go into limp mode during spirited driving.

As far as the lack of an LSD, that is a big issue for the 335i as it is basically OWD (one wheel inside drive on turns). I joke that the xi has 4 LSDs given the excellent rear wheel biased Xdrive AWD system.

All that said, this car is touted as the next Supra given the ease of turbo tuneability. It is common to see 400hp results with just a $800 piggy pack module. These cars are turning high 12s and sub 4 second 0-60s with only minimal mods. Dont be surprised when all the coffee can honda boys peer over at your wife at the stoplight revving their engine at her either.

Essential options inlcude the leather, sport package, xenons, nav, and keyless entry.

I think you mean the 1 series; there is no 2 series. I dont care for the cutesy look, despite its smaller size than the 3 series its only a couple hundred pounds lighter. It will be a fun car no doubt sharing the same TT engine.

2008s are out already and unchanged sans the addition of a 335xi coupe.

I forgot. BMW offers that maintenance thingy for 50k, so that's prolly a better option since wimmenz don't pay attention to SHIT on their cars.

If your wife likes it, and u have the cash for it then Do Eet! Might want to ask the financial wizards around here, but if the Dollar continues to fall versus the Euro, then wouldn't the price of Euro goods comming across the pond going to increase in price? Buy NOW!!
