I gotta admit, I find this hard to believe, 80+% of Chicagoland earns sub 30k a year? Are they counting children here?

It's per person the way I read it. So if a family of four brings in 100k a year, they fall in the sub 30k/person area. A little different than most of the studies I've seen.

I've always mocked my wife for growing up in Hinsdale and how I would never raise a family there. I showed her this map and it helped prove my point when you can pin point where Hinsdale is and how it's the only "red" suburb besides the north.

It marks out Lisle and Naperville about right too.

It stated they used 2000Census data. You can get the income per household by zipcode from there.

Income is usually by household in mapping or it would be completely worthless.
