Common in Concert

Just got my tickets up for Common at the HOB.
Today is the presale day. I think you have to belong to the HOB mailing list or something to get tickets today. Anyway the regular tickets go on sale Dec. 1

Concert is Sat. January 12 7pm show $45 + bs charges

I saw Kanye a few years back at the house and it was great. I've been waiting to see Common there and I'm glad I'm getting the chance.

If anyone else plans to go let me know and we can meet by one of the bars and grab a beer.

The last time I saw Common in concert was back in 95 or 96 when he opened for none other than the Notorious B.I.G. That was when he was a relative nobody to the masses. I like his brand of Hip Hop. Its more "grown and sexy" and not "blinged out" like the rest of the garbage you hear these days. I'm sure the crowd at this upcoming concert will be an older more sophisticated crowd than say a crowd at a Lil Wayne concert.

I agree I'm pretty picky what Hip Hop concerts I go to. I hate it when there are 30 people on stage yelling the lyrics. I like the see the artist preform. No way would I see most of the modern "rap groups".

True dat. Hip Hop music is best listened to in a car or at the club. A live Hip Hop show on the other hand, you can hardly make out what the fuck they are saying and it's just a bunch of idiots on stage flailing their arms and jumping around with a microphone in their hand. Unless its The Roots (live band and all) in concert or Common, I wouldn't even bother buying a ticket to a live show these days.

I'm a big Common fan, thanks for the heads up. I was lucky enough to see him live when he did the Conan O'Brien show a few years ago. Great artist.
