Weather Advisory Drop-Ins

Are these broadcast interruptions really necessary on the network channels? First it was just the scrolling updates, then they added the ridiculous beeping, followed that with a huge radar map with the counties highlighted (like you don't know where you live) and NOW, they feel it necessary to interrupt the program you're watching to tell you it's snowing in December. BIG F'ING SURPRISE...I could see a drop in if we got 6" of snow in July, but this is Chicago...it snows. Can I have my ACC Championship Game back now?

The roads are BAD up in the Roselle/Schaumburg area. If you dont have to, DONT drive! I'm sitting in a parking lot trying not to get hit and waiting for the next accident bc we've had 7 accidents in the last 30 mins.

I've stayed home, out of the weather, trying to watch some College Football. They won't let me

Alright, perfect weather to test out the summer tires on snow. lol Still need to swap the all-seasons on.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

ABC just broke in again with ANOTHER update...to tell me that it's snowing all over the Chicagoland area...it's not snowing here

You know, breaking into a program used to be for major events, like the Kennedy assassination or landing on the moon...this is ridiculous.

So in all seriousness, any recommendations on technique to ride in the snow? I should have my bike fixed in about an hour and wanted to try my hand at it at least in the side streets.

Damn, it's a sheet of ice out there. It's as bad as it has ever been. Roads are dangerous. People are spinning out everywhere. Turn lanes and parking lots are an ice rink. I can see why the news is all over this.

It has little to do with road conditions, they did it last week as well...not a flake of snow. Any time a storm moves into the area it's this shit. It's way overboard, IMO. I think the scrolling tickers should suffice, I don't need my programs interrupted every 20 fucking mins.
