Losing the Cable Signal

Well, stuck at home cuz of the weather and now the Directv is taking a shit. Seriously I think I may go back to Comcast simply because every single time it storms I lose the signal. FACK!

I want to watch the Mizzou/OK game!

That is the only plus to cable. Cable seems to cost a lot more, and they always seem to raise prices. I just got a letter saying the price goes up Jan 08 .

They make heated dishes for that purpose. Dish comes back after the storm clears cable sometimes took days.

You're not appreciating how high the peak of this roof is ...there's no way my hose would hit that thing with enough power to do anything.

Maybe have them come out and check your setup or something. I've never once had the signal even so much as blink on me. I've been lazy today watching TV, and mine hasn't had one problem, nothing.

You're lucky. If you have an HD feed, the signal is stronger and less susceptible to this type of thing. Most people I know have this happen periodically. I think the placement of mine up on the peak of the roof is part of the problem as this is probably the 5th or 6th time I've lost the signal, but it was always just during the bad storms...(you've never had a problem during storms?) This one sucks cuz it's kaput until the facking ice melts off of it.

Periodically losing signal is one of the drawbacks of dish, but their service is great...

Nope, never one problem. I haven't yet upgraded to the HD either. I've heard of people having problems like that, I guess I've been lucky...Maybe ask them to move the dish?

That's what I was thinking. I specifically asked the installer about losing signal because I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the thing where it's at now. I think I'll have them move it to the ground outside of my side door where I can get at it for shit like this...I'M MISSING THE DAMN TENNESSEE GAME!!

Today was definitely the perfect day to be a complete lazy piece of crap! My dogs and I just cuddled under my comforter all day!! The only thing I did was go out to get the pups some food, but that is whole 2 minutes from my house.

Ok, here's the plan. I'm heading out to my brother's to watch the game. I expect one of you, out of the kindness of your collective hearts, to come out and fix my dish.

Thanks in advance
