Patron is good shit but just like Ducati it is way overrated by it's fan club.

To each their own. Some people like single malt's and are willing to pay >$100, even 400+, for me they do nothing and I don't get into them. Others think nothing of dropping $40 for a bottle of wine.

+1

Jack Daniels or the $200 bottle taste the same to me. Same with wine. I think it's nasty and it always gives me a massive headache.

Tequila is the only shot I'll take at a bar, and that's only with a group of friends. And Patron is the only kind of tequila I actually like and can take without salt and a lime. Jose makes me want to vomit instantly when drinking it.

uisce beatha The water of life the taste is not for everyone. I prefer my tequila with some fresh lime juice and Grand Marnier on the rocks.

The stuff is made to be enjoyed not swilled down like some gods damn ripple, For me I do not get the money spent on premium Vodkas every time there is a blind taste test Smirnoff ranks towards the top.

It is a fascinating study when you look at distilled spirits and the agricultural products of a country. Russia the potato and Vodka. Cuba sugar with Rum, Corn and wheat for American and Canadian whiskey. Mexico with the Agave and Tequila Etc...

BTW Templeton Rye is making a come back straight rye is very good stuff.

Patron is the $hit! I've got an unopened bottle I got for my B-day in March. Gotta finish off the 1800 for now.

Casa Dores(sp) is pretty good as well.

Patron is DECENT, but nowhere close to what people make it out to be. Kinda like crystal, it sounds good in rap songs but if you knew good liquor you'd never buy the shit.

No offense but I can barely stomach 1800 and don't care much for Petron but I can't count how many people have said "You need to try Petron".

If you want a real treat try some Casa Noble Amejo.

It's funny how tastes change as one gets older. Years back I thought 1800 was the cream of the crop. Couldn't touch regular Jose Quervo to the point of getting sick. Now 1800 does the same thing to me & I used to drink it straight. Only used for margueritas 'cause I have it on hand. I primarily drink tequila so I'm sure my taste will change about Patron eventually.

I used to think that Patron is the shit until I tried Don Julio Blanco last week in Mexico - good stuff - and in Mexico they say there Patron is OK, but nothing special, just good marketing in US.

now by recommendation of mexican bartender, I got a bottle of 1921 Blanco - I will taste it on Saturday with Biggy and some other russians and report here
