That is definitely not that bad based on the exchange rates and what you are getting. I would do it but the wife would kill me for going on another vacation with out her.

Sell a couple of your cycles and do it. I was talking with those guys a couple years back just before buying my KTM. I put all the costs together to do it by myself or with a couple of guys (that I know aren't cheep asses ) and I came up with a price that was almost 15,000.00!

These are great trips and I believe that they are now hooked up with an international Life Flight type thing to get you back to the states for medical attention (it is a big thing right now in the investment guys to have this type of membership so they are insured good health care when they go out on extreme vacations).

Seriously if you are not blowing smoke sell your crap and take the trip before that little girl puts you in the poor house. Hell I will go with you, I will just rent a little drop top, I need an excuse to go see my Scandinavian Hooker Friends!

Cheap?? HELL YA! Just try to ship your motorcycle over or rent one... you will be surprised how all the import tags and taxes cost.

WWI huh...
I would think more like the next Euro Plague...

In any event we would make all the local papers and perhaps wind up on BBC and CNN! You should really get this out of your system before your nutz are pulled and trimmed by the little one. (remember 1 leads to 2 - 2 possibly to 3 then POOR HOUSE and NO TIME).

Bill has a very good point. You probably spend that much on other stuff throughout the year. You can definately afford the trip.

My Denali climb was pretty expensive. I did without trackdays for a year to divert money to equipment and training climbs. It was totally worth it. Being stuck at 14,200 ft for almost 2 weeks was one of the highlights of my life.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

But for that amount you get your own hotel room instead of being crammed in like sardines with you guys...no offense

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

The only real nut job in the group is Vivid...she did 1018 miles in 21 hours on a 954 with a stock saddle My ass hurt just looking at the saddle of that thing! As for the rest of us...we found it was better to coffee up, get on the bikes around 7, ride til around 11 then eat....skip lunch and the post meal sleepies...have dinner around 7. The summer before last, the Montana trip out of the 11 days, we did one 300 day...it seemed so short...after doing 7 days at 550 miles a day.

True Dat!

But you forgot one critical element in the equation... Scandinavian Hookers!

I just got done fighting with my wife about how I can go and she can't. She finally realized that she is no fun and I DESERVE it! Plus there won't be enough room for me and the 3 Scandinavian Hookers in my pimp drop top.

I think we should go Tony and spread the Holiday Infection! In fact, I just made up your mind for you we are doing it! Next year - No wives - Only cool people (my scale of course) - and NO CELL PHONES! They can track those things ya know.

I would like to do this, but the only thing that would prevent me is that after driving the Gallardo I'd want to put a second mortgage on the house so I could buy one.
