Yeah it was, I was about to pull the trigger on an inspiron with half the HDD and RAM for about $100 less but then I saw the XPS. I have been looking for a laptop for a while and browsing the "deal" forums. I backed off a black friday laptop, I posted it here asking for opinions, but ultimately decided I wanted something nicer. I saw this deal first on notebookreview forum but the posts on SD made it even sweeter.
Can't wait to get it in, I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. A geekie kid.
The only thing is my expected delivery date is 01/07/2008....ouch....

Good point. Has anyone installed Vista, and is it much different than installing XP from scratch? I imagine it's not difficult but if anyone has done it, please chime in.

no problem doing it, just doing it a different way.

I am most likely going to use my personal Vista home premium DVD that DID not come with the laptop so it does not have any dell chit on it. then use my Dell given home premium Key that did come with laptop.
