Tornado Sirens ! ! ! !

The sirens were just going off here in Plainfield for about 5 minutes. Ive checked the radar and there arent even any bad cells near us yet. Whats the deal..

Did they go off anywhere else in Plainfield ? I have a siren just outside my backyard so it was louder than hell.

I had one of those a couple hundred feet away at my old condo. When they first put that sucker up it was only on about a 20 foot pole. The first time that thing went off was like something our of a sci-fi. Each time it would rotate in my direction it would go from merely deafening to unearthly loud.

So there you are asleep and suddenly it sounds like this thing was going to rip your place apart. At first it sounded like it was the freakin tornado!

Finally after a while they put it on a taller pole so it wasn't pointed directly at our buildings.

I don't even want to think about the building that was right across the street from it, between it and our building. I think they'd be doing laundry before going back to sleep.

OK .... who do I call in Plainfield to find out why they were going off ? Police, village hall, public works? Who monitors those things ?

Midnight last night was the wrong time to "test" those things

well where i live it..it is plainfeild township. but one time the street lamp was out..and since the light pools and some other shit belonged to the city of joliet...well its there bag.

on the other hand, from some of the cops i know around here. there is plainfield cops that repsonde to MINOR stuff. but anything like a warrant, battery in progress, barricaded subject
they try to get joliet cops to show up.

go figure.

good thing i work with alot of cops, and other types of branches...they come by time to time, to shoot the shit, and play around....lol

Come to think about it I see a correlation there. My home value went up 5x more most other suburbs too.

yeah i just have weeds and corn stalks in my front and back yard. i just cant afford to live in lombard, and for that it makes me a poor person. i cant afford tree's and i cant afford to live where trees are at.

i wish i had money to live where the rich people live.
