Christmas lights

Where in Chicagoland do you guys to go to see the Christmas lights? It's been a while since I've went on a drive to check out the neighborhoods that get crazy with the lights and decorations and tonight feels like a nice night to take a drive so any suggestions are appreciated.

Back in the day it was Lincolnwood... Not so sure about now?

There are two brothers in Oak Park on Home Ave. just north of the Jewel on Roosevelt Road who live next door to each other and compete with each other every year over their outdoor displays.

well after driving around Chicagoland for 3 hours I finally hit the jackpot close to Lincolnwood in Sauganash. Here are a few pics.

This was just across Cicero on the other side of the Edens, I saw a lot of traffic going in and out of a side street and knew right away what they were there to do

Schorsch Village on the NW side (near Belmont and Oak Park) used to be a big "Candy Cane Lane" when I was growing up. And that gated community off Higgins in Rosemont used to do the lights up very well in times past.

In River Forest, there is a mansion on Ashland north of Chicago Ave. that was supposed to have belonged at one time to mobster Tony Accardo that was decorated very well last year.

Good enough for the Tribune to do a story on them a few years ago!

And since I'm going to West Rogers Park today, I'll try to check out that display in Sauganash.

Sauganash has the same shit every year. The best ones are the house with the Xmas tree poking through the roof, and the living room designed as Santa's workshop.

I lived in Saugnash for a few years when I was a kid. I remember that house with the tree thru all the floors. Gotta be the same house

I wanna say it was on Peterson or Devon maybe? It was on the north side of a east-west street. East of Cicero Ave?

I just found out that it was fake. Slick bastards! And it's on Pratt and Cicero (not the house itself but the intersection where you turn to get to the houses.

Anyone ever been tot he area near the Arlington Race track (off of Euclid)?? There's a lit up area which you can see from 355. Never been though.

yeah closest major intersection is Pratt and Cicero... I think the side street was Longmeadow starting from Pratt then going south. that whole area had a lot of houses and people were just lining up to take a look. That house with the tree through the roof was obviously fake but I have to admit they did a pretty good job of trying to make it look real. As for the race track area.. I saw that too but didn't want to bother finding out how to get to it and I was meeting someone in the city to have a few beers so I headed for Lincolnhood.
