I know with cars all you need is your VIN and proof of ownership and the dealer can cut them from that. Not sure on bikes so I'd call the stealership and ask first.

Its easier to put out by your mailbox on garbage day, btw whats the address?

I would call stealership, ask cost. then debate replacement or buy new off of ebay.

On the gsxr there is a code on the bottom of the ignition key block. The down side is that you need to remove it. Two security bits at the bottom. Give that code to a dealer and bam. Also a locksmith could take care of you.

You know the Germans, if you donīt join the party they come and get you.

a lock set is around $170-$200 for a Honda. Or, you can sometimes pull the ignition off, and the code will be stamped on the cylinder, which you can then take to a dealer and get a key maked

do you have your title and proof of purchase in your name? Take it to a dealer and have them make a key for you.

unless you bought the bike new, the dealer prolly can't help you. locksmith is prolly the best option, or pull ignition and take to locksmith

Try retracing your steps first before you try the locksmith and ebay. If you find them make a spare immediately, and put the spares in a safe place.

both titles are in my name. one of the bikes was purchased new by me, the second one - used from a private seller.
I just moved and i guess will have to wait till i completely unpack to see if the keys fall out of somewhere. If not, there is still plenty of time before the riding seasoon to take care of this.
I just needed to have an idea how big of a trouble would it be to get copies.

well, if you bought one new, the dealer you bought it from may be able to help. All depends on their setup procedure and computer system.

The Honda dealer i work at, we only record key codes for new bikes, so might have to pull ignition on the other one.

Screwdriver. That's the setup I have on my 1975 CB550, no one is gonna lift that bike and it gets a chain and lock when it's parked, so I'm not worried.

+1 Vcook. At the end of the day - it's a helluva lot easier/cheaper to re-key everything. eBay is your friend.

My friend had to go through it. All he did is removed the ignition lock and took it to locksmith 3 days later and $30 he got the lock back with two keys.
