UPDATE 1st Post - I found a dog - Chicago (Logan Square)

**UPDATE**

I just got off the phone with the dog's owner. She lives about 2 blocks from me and is coming to pick him up tonight. Based off of our conversation she seems like the legit owner. Apparently, his name's Kilo and he's a Boxer/Pitbull mix. I'm gonna miss him a bit, but I feel good that I found his owner.

************************************************** ********

Hello all.

I found a dog last night while walking my dog. I placed a "found" ad on Craigslist, so please keep an ear open or pass the link along. Thanks...

Good job.

You could take him to local vet and see if he has a chip implant. Probablly a long shot since he's not neutered but worth a shot.

You can also throw up some flyers at a few local vets. Someone in the office might recognize him. Either a paitent or someone who works there

Be careful of Asians coming in to claim the dog. Be sure the dog knows the Asian. Damn Asians can never say no to free dog meat.

At the moment my mom and one of my sister's friends said they would possibly take him in. I'd feel bad if I gave him up to a stranger. Hopefully I'll find his rightful owner.

You can call 311 and have them pick up the dog also.

Yeah, but that could be an inevitable death sentence. I'm too much of a dog-lover to let that happen.

They will do all the work for you. On the positive side, a dog owner who lost a dog will instinctually look to see if the city picked it up. Best place to look is the pound and not craigslist. My $0.02

+1 on being wary of who responds to "Dog Found" ads - when I found my cocker spaniel on the train 8-1/2 years ago and put an ad in the paper, I got some calls from people - most sounded like teenagers - stating that they did not lose a dog, but were interested in having the dog.
(But it didn't matter, since nobody claimed her and by the end of the week I was already attached (and so was my other cocker spaniel) and hoping nobody would claim her anyway).

I would also post flyers at places like PetSmart, Petco, etc.; and if there is a dog park in your neighborhood, I would post some there, too, since one of the "regulars" might recognize the dog.

I also remember that there was a lady on the NW side who would keep track of lost pets so when I found my dog I called her so she could have the info in her database. I don't think she does this anymore, though.

The way i lured the dogs was by rubbing peanut butter on my nuts, then whacking them over the head with my huge cock once they finished.

I've already contacted AC&C as well as several shelters in the city. I've e-mailed them pics of the dog and they've all said that he wasn't on their missing list and that no one has reported him. I also had him scanned for a microchip yesterday and it's a negative.

At this point, I'm starting to become more and more attached to this dog the longer I have him. I already have a dog, though, and I'm not sure if I wanna bring in another one (they do get along great though). My mom said she would probably take him, but she wants to meet him first. If she doesn't, and no one claims/reports him by then, I'll probably end up taking him in.

Face it - you have another dog now!

Do you have a name in mind for it? Many people name a pet after where they find it (my dog hopped on the train at the Galewood Metra station, so I named her Gale).
